Abstract: | When the Fe-20at.%Al-8at.%Ti alloy was aged at 1000 degrees C for 1 h and then quenched, the microstructure of the alloy was a mixture of (A2 + D0(3) + C14) phases. By means of transmission electron microscopy and diffraction techniques the orientation relationship between the C14 precipitate and (A2+D0(3)) matrix was determined to be: (0001)C-14 parallel to(112), (1100)(C14)parallel to(110)(m), (11206411(111)m. This orientation relationship has not been reported in Fe-Al-Ti alloy systems before. (C) 2007 Published by Elsevier Ltd. on behalf of Acta Materialia Inc. |
