Abstract: | A multizoned light-enhanced layer (MZ-LEL) superimposed on an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display has been demonstrated to increase the level of the light out-coupling efficiency in the normal direction. Such an MZ-LEL has a specific profile, which has been fabricated with sufficient accuracy. Simultaneously, this study has shown that by combining Fresnel's equation into an existing ray-tracing model, the level of accuracy in the construction of the model can be increased. Such a new model applied to a previous study has reduced the modeling deviation from 50 to 4%. It has been found that a 70 x 70 pixel OLED panel laminated with an array-patterned MZ-LEL (ALEL) exhibits a gain factor of 1.28. which is consistent with the simulated value of 1.32. |
