Abstract: A theoretical model for the transmission of ultrashort soliton pulse trains in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers is developed. The model is used to study nonreciprocal characteristics of energy amplification and the evolution of the pulse train in a doped fiber with different pumping configurations.
