Abstract: This paper presents an alternative design method for a linear time invariant n x n multiple-input-multiple-output feedback system with plant uncertainty and output feedback. Due to uncertainty, the plant P belongs to a set of P. It is required that for all P is-an-element-of P the n2 system transfer functions be members of specified sets of acceptable outputs. The plant uncertainties are transformed into equivalent external disturbance sets, and the design problem becomes one of external disturbance attenuation. The method has been proven rigorous by means of Schauder's fixed point theorem. This paper concentrates on the practical design procedures and compares the results with those obtained by other techniques.
