Abstract: 在今天,電信網路如SDH/SONET以及ATM等類型,網路維運工程人員必須要能夠管理大量的事件或者是告警,以及能夠迅速地且精確地判斷發生的原因。
而這篇研究論文最主要的目的,乃是是討論進行事件相關性分析時,所需具備的理論基礎,且利用惠普科技所發展出來的HP OpenView Event Correlation Services(HPOV-ECS)之工具為基礎,提出針對事件相關性分析之通用模型。相信運用此通用模型,必能設計出適用於同質或異質的有線、無線的電信網路中的事件相關性迴路。而經由此迴路能正確地、快速地找到事故發生的真正原因(root cause),進而排除網路障礙,提高網路服務的品質。達成能完全「掌控事件流」的境界。
此模型不僅能使得網路營運公司的工程人員,在日常的網路維運中,能夠迅速地處理突發而來的危機;對於電信網路營運者而言,則在使網路用戶(Subscribers)能得到最佳的網路使用品質之同時,相對地規避了企業營運上的無形風險。
Telecommunication operators and network administrators today must be able to manage a large number of events or alarms (event storms) and identify the cause rapidly and accurately. This is of particular importance with the latest high-speed broadband network such as SDH/SONET and ATM.
The target will try to be achieved by using a sophisticated correlation engine resulting in a significant reduction in the number of events, as well as providing more relevant information to the network operator pointing to the underlying causes of the problems. It enables operators to get back on top of their management environment and ‘Take Control of Event Storms’. And event management should be an absolute requirement for minimizing the risk of network service and business operation.
