Abstract: | 今年(2005)二月十六日,「聯合國氣候變化綱要公約」1997年在日本東京召開第三次締約國大會時擬定的「京都議定書」正式生效,使得人類開始警覺到環境保護的重要性,而企業身為社會的一份子,當然有其不可避免的社會責任。企業表達其重視社會責任的方式之一,常常是利用財務報表中有關環境資訊的揭露來作為其達到目的的手段。許多文獻顯示,環境資訊的揭露和合理性理論有關,因此,本研究欲基於合理性理論,以個案鋼鐵公司為例,針對該公司的年報環境資訊揭露程度和平面媒體中企業揭露程度進行研究,以平面媒體報導程度作為衡量變數,探討其和年報環境資訊揭露程度以及平面媒體中企業揭露程度間的關係。本研究的研究問題如下:
(1)平面媒體對個案鋼鐵公司環境績效的報導程度與該公司年報環境資訊揭露程度以及平面媒體中企業揭露程度具有相關性?
(2)平面媒體對個案鋼鐵公司環境績效的報導程度與該公司年報環境資訊揭露程度以及平面媒體中企業揭露程度具有時間遞延性的相關?
本研究針對該個案鋼鐵公司十年來年報和平面媒體資料進行研究,採取質量兩種評估方式,得到以下結論:
(1)以揭露數量來看,平面媒體對個案鋼鐵公司環境績效的報導程度與該公司年報環境資訊揭露程度以及平面媒體中企業揭露程度具有相關性。
(2)以揭露品質來看,平面媒體對個案鋼鐵公司環境績效的報導程度與該公司年報環境資訊揭露程度以及平面媒體中企業揭露程度不具有相關性。
(3)不論以揭露數量或揭露品質來看,平面媒體對個案鋼鐵公司環境績效報導程度的影響力都只及於當年度。 This research wants to take steel corporation of the case as an example based on the legitimacy theory, investigating the content of environmental information disclosures in annual reports and print media for the years 1994 through 2003.The research question of this research is as follows: ( 1) The levels of the print media coverage given to specific attributes of steel corporation’s environmental performace will be associated with the levels of specific environmental disclosures made by steel corporation in its annual reports and print media. ( 2) The levels of the print media coverage given to specific attributes of steel corporation’s environmental performace will be associated with the levels of specific environmental disclosures made by steel corporation in its annual reports and print media(time lags). Results indicate that: ( 1) For the quantity, there is a positive correlation between the levels of print media report and the levels of environmental information disclosures. ( 2) For the quality, there is no correlation between the levels of print media reports and the levels of environmental information disclosures. ( 3) No matter what the quantity or quality, the influence of media reports only reach in current year. |
