Influence of High-Order Modes in Starting Self-Mode-Locked Optically Pumped Semiconductor Laser

Abstract

We explored the influence of pump-to-mode size ratios on optically pumped semiconductor laser. With a large pump-to-mode size ratio, the output beam was self-modelocked with 1.17 ps pulse duration at a repetition rate of 1.8GHz.
