dc.description.abstract | The internet and electronic devices are used more frequently in our daily life. These applications transport some information which may contain personal or important information that is required to be secret. In order to make the information safer, the AES is chosen to ensure the security. However, an unprotected AES is vulnerable to the side-channel attack such as differential power analysis attack. The attacker can reveal the secret key by analyzing the power consumption of the cryptographic device. There are many methods to resist the DPA attack but these methods require large hardware cost. The countermeasure with low hardware cost is very suitable for low cost application such as smart card, RFID or mobile healthcare. In this thesis, it combines the random source and the ring oscillator together to reduce the area overhead and control the protect time to reduce the power consumption. | en_US |
