dc.description.abstract新一代的區域網路科技使得傳輸速度可達每秒十億比次(Giga-bits- per-second),( 而非同步傳輸模式(ATM)是其中最令人注目的,因為它虛擬 化實際傳輸媒體的使用方式,不僅讓使用者獲得任意想要的頻寬,也容易支 援虛擬區域網路的服務。 但是僅有這些優點不足以達到廣泛的被採用,先決的要務必須讓它能夠與 現有的區域,網路互通,使現存的應用系統繼續執行。 非同步傳輸模式區 域網路模擬(ATM LAN Emulation)是 由ATM Forum所提出的一個方案,將會被許多廠商所支援,本論文將為其製 作 一個管理系統,讓使用者監看它的使用情形。非同步傳輸模式上多重通 訊協定(Multi-protocol Over ATM) 將帶領使用者通往非同步傳輸模式網 際網路(ATM Internetworking)的世界,本論文亦將為其提出一管理資料 庫(MIB)。 The new generation LAN technologies support near gigabit-per-second data rate. ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) is one which attracts the most attention because of its ability to virtualize the usage of the physical transmission media. It not only enables the bandwidth-on-demandbut also support the VLAN concept. However, only these features are not enough for archieving the wide deployment, it must be interoperable with the legacy LANs as well as allows the preservation of existing investment. One of the proposal made by ATM forum is LAN Emulation(LANE), which will be adopted by many ATM vendors. In this thesis we will implement a network management system to help users monitor the usage. Multiprotocol over ATM(MPOA) paves the way for users to the ATM internetworking world. We also develop a management information base(MIB) for MPOA in this thesis.zh_TW
