Item type:Item, A METHOD FOR MEASURING THE SPHERICAL-ABERRATION OF A CYLINDRICAL OPTICAL-ELEMENT BY FOURIER-TRANSFORM TECHNIQUE(1992-07-01) ;CHANG, CW ;SU, DC ;交大名義發表 ;光電工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityA simple method of using Fourier transform technique for measuring the spherical aberration of a cylindrical optical element is presented. First, a collimated monochromatic light passes through a linear grating and a tested cylindrical optical element, then the deformed fringes are obtained in the observation plane. Next, the fringes are analyzed with the techniques of Fourier transform, bandpass filtering and inverse Fourier transform and finally the spherical aberration of the tested element is obtained.Item type:Item, A NEW TECHNIQUE FOR MEASURING THE EFFECTIVE FOCAL LENGTH OF A THICK LENS OR A COMPOUND LENS(1990-08-15) ;SU, DC ;CHANG, CW ;交大名義發表 ;光電工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityItem type:Item, AN IMPROVED TECHNIQUE OF MEASURING THE FOCAL LENGTH OF A LENS(1989-10-15) ;CHANG, CW ;SU, DC ;交大名義發表 ;光電工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityItem type:Item, COLLIMATION METHOD THAT USES SPIRAL GRATINGS AND TALBOT INTERFEROMETRY(1991-11-15) ;CHANG, CW ;SU, DC ;交大名義發表 ;光電工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityThe tested light is projected onto an arrangement composed of two special spiral gratings, in which the second spiral grating is positioned at the Talbot image of the first one. From the shapes of the resultant moire fringes, the quality of collimation of the tested light can be easily checked.Item type:Item, FEMTOSECOND SOLITON PROPAGATION IN ERBIUM-DOPED FIBER AMPLIFIERS - THE EQUIVALENCE OF 2 DIFFERENT MODELS(1994-03-15) ;CHI, S ;CHANG, CW ;WEN, S ;光電工程學系Department of PhotonicsThe femtosecond soliton propagation in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) was calculated by using the coupled Maxwell-Bloch equations and the modified nonlinear Schrodinger equation with a complex lorentzian pin profile, respectively. Two results are found to be almost identical for the practical parameters of the EDFA. Therefore, accurate results can be obtained using the complex lorentzian gain profile, and it is much more time saving.Item type:Item, MOIRE FRINGES BY 2 SPIRAL GRATINGS AND ITS APPLICATIONS ON COLLIMATION TESTS(1995-08-01) ;CHANG, CW ;SU, DC ;CHANG, JT ;交大名義發表光電工程學系The characteristics of the moire fringes produced by the superposition of various kinds of spiral gratings are derived. According to the shapes of the resultant moire fringes, the moire fringes can be used for checking the collimation of a light beam. The resolution of each condition is discussed.Item type:Item, ULTRASHORT SOLITON PULSE-TRAIN PROPAGATION IN ERBIUM-DOPED FIBER AMPLIFIERS(1994-09-15) ;CHI, S ;CHANG, CW ;WEN, SF ;光電工程學系Department of PhotonicsA theoretical model for the transmission of ultrashort soliton pulse trains in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers is developed. The model is used to study nonreciprocal characteristics of energy amplification and the evolution of the pulse train in a doped fiber with different pumping configurations.
