Item type:Item, A NOVEL DESIGN FOR THE UNKNOWN INPUT FAULT-DETECTION OBSERVER(1995-06-01) ;CHANG, SK ;HSU, PL ;電子工程學系及電子研究所 ;電控工程研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsThe unknown input fault detection observer (UIFDO) is one of the most powerful diagnostic approaches for disturbed and uncertain dynamic systems. Normally, the procedure for designing a UIFDO is complicated. This paper presents a novel approach that uses vector projection theory to develop a direct design algorithm with simple matrix calculations for the synthesis of a UIFDO. Some associated existence conditions for the fault detectability of a stable UIFDO are also discussed. In addition to fault detection, we extend the proposed UIFDO Co handle fault isolation by appending a post filter to specify and diagonalize the fault/residual map. Detailed examples reveal the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.Item type:Item, A PARAMETRIC TRANSFER-MATRIX APPROACH TO FAULT-IDENTIFICATION FILTER DESIGN AND THRESHOLD SELECTION(1995-04-01) ;CHANG, SK ;HSU, PL ;LIN, KL ;電子工程學系及電子研究所電控工程研究所By employing st transfer matrix approach we develop straightforward design procedures to construct a fault-identification filter (FIDF) to achieve failure detection and isolation. Furthermore, we derive the necessary and sufficient conditions for the synthesis of the FIDF. The condition entails a parametrization of the set of all achievable diagonal fault/residual maps and the set of all existing FIDFs. Since the diagnostic performance of the FIDF is influenced significantly by the model uncertainty, we present a framework for analysing the FIDF by incorporating modelling errors. Consequently, a criterion to determine an adequate threshold for the FIDF based on robust control theory is derived. Examples are used to illustrate the validity of this approach.Item type:Item, GENERAL-STRUCTURED UNKNOWN INPUT OBSERVERS(1994) ;CHANG, SK ;YOU, WT ;HSU, PL ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsItem type:Item, ON THE APPLICATION OF THE (1)-INVERSE TO THE DESIGN OF GENERAL STRUCTURED UNKNOWN INPUT OBSERVERS(1994-12-01) ;CHANG, SK ;HSU, PL ;電子工程學系及電子研究所 ;電控工程研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsThis paper presents a concise and straightforward formulation of the unknown input observer (UIO) problem based on the general structured observer. By employing the simplest generalized inverse of matrices, the {1}-inverse, we develop constructive design procedures for the UIO design that provide necessary and sufficient conditions for both full-order and reduced-order general structured UIOs. Moreover, corresponding configurations for continuous-time systems are also derived, and consequently this paper renders the complete solutions for general structured UIO design. Furthermore, we show that the general structured UIO is structurally and numerically equivalent to the UIO in the configuration of Luenberger observer. Examples are included to illustrate the validity of the proposed methodology.Item type:Item, PARALLEL GENERATION OF BINARY SEARCH TREES(1974-01-01) ;WONG, CK ;CHANG, SK ;資訊工程學系Department of Computer ScienceItem type:Item, SENSITIVITY OF FAILURE-DETECTION USING GENERALIZED OBSERVERS - COMMENTS(1994-02-01) ;CHANG, SK ;HSU, PL ;電子工程學系及電子研究所 ;電控工程研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsBy considering the sensitivity-robustness problem in analytical redundancy-based fault detection schemes, Manquez, H. J. and C. P. Diduch (1992). Sensitivity of failure detection using generalized observers. Automatica, 28, 837-840, proposed a new General Observer to overcome the limits on achievable sensitivity imposed by the structure of classical full-order observers and partial state observers. It is shown here that this General Observer can be found to be equivalent to the partial state observer using the generalized Bezout identity. Two corrected representations of equations (20) and (23) in Manquez and Diduch's paper are also provided.
