Item type:Item, COMPACT QUAD BAND MONOPOLE ANTENNA(2011-06-01) ;Lin, Chih-Peng ;Chang, Chieh-Hsiang ;Jou, Christina F. ;電信工程研究所Institute of Communications EngineeringIn this article, a compact quad band monopole antenna is demonstrated. Asymmetric coplanar strip feeding is applied in the design in order to compact the size. The proposed antenna fabricated on a FR4 substrate has an overall size of 30-30 mm(2). By integrating an invert-C slot and a modified invert-F strip into an invert-C patch, multiple resonant frequencies can be excited at 1.1, 2.35, 3.6, and 5.4 GHz individually for global positioning system, wireless local area network, Bluetooth/ISM, and Wi-MAX applications. The measured result has shown a good agreement with the simulation results. (C) 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. T. ;Jou, Christina F.電信工程研究所In this letter, a flexible SU-8/PDMS-based antenna has been demonstrated, not only targeting the wearable computing, but also fitting well in the RF system-on-package (RF SOP) applications. The characteristics of the proposed antenna fabricated on a flexible polymer substrate (SU-8/PDMS) with different bending angles have been successfully measured and characterized for the first time. The measured results have shown fairly good agreement with the simulation results. The measured bandwidth and maximum gain are 3% from 6.2 to 6.4 GHz and 2.17 dBi, respectively, when the antenna is flat. Moreover, related antenna fabrication process provides a practical approach to realize the flexible antenna for the portable wireless electronics applications.
