Item type:Item, 1-to-(NxN) optical fan-out module for optical interconnects(1997-04-01) ;Su, DC ;Chang, JT ;Huang, YT ;電子工程學系及電子研究所光電工程學系Based on the structure of substrate-mode holograms, a new type of 1-to-(N x N) optical fan-out module which consists of two layers of grating arrays for optical interconnects is presented. The first and second layer have a I x N grating array and a N x N grating array, respectively. By suitably choosing the diffracted angle and diffraction efficiency of every grating, similar diffraction will be performed repeatedly at every grating. Finally, N x N output beams are obtained.Item type:Item, 1-to-25 optical fanout module for optoelectronics interconnects(1996) ;Su, DC ;Chang, JT ;Huang, YT ;光電工程學系Department of PhotonicsItem type:Item, A four channel polarization and wavelength separation element using substrate-mode stacked holograms(1996-06-17) ;Chang, JT ;Su, DC ;Huang, YT ;電子工程學系及電子研究所光電工程研究所A four channel polarization and wavelength separation element using substrate-mode stacked holograms is proposed based on the diffraction efficiency characteristics for polarization and the wavelength selectivity of a transmission-type phase volume grating. We fabricated a sample device and measured its polarization selectivity, output spectrum, and insertion loss of each channel to demonstrate its performance. Each unit cube comprises a pair of prisms and a transmission-type phase volume hologram. The assembled selector, when examined with an intensity modulated beam of known polarization state, demonstrated our designated target. In addition, wavelength-selective characteristics can also be designed with volume-type holographic optical elements. These polarization-selective and wavelength-selective components have been designed and fabricated in various structures. In this presentation, we first review the basic structures of our holographic polarization-selective and wavelength-selective elements. Normally incident and output coupling of our compact and light-weight components provide better flexibility and easier alignment for system applications. Based on these holographic optical elements, we will introduce the compact structures for various optical interconnect applications.Item type:Item, Hybrid optical elements for dual-focus pickup(1997) ;Su, DC ;Chang, JT ;Huang, YT ;交大名義發表光電工程學系Two hybrid optical elements are presented for dual-focus pickup in the digital versatile disk (DVD) system. One is a hybrid dual-focus lens and the other is a holographic regional mirror. The optical head consisting of these two hybrid optical elements can read the information recorded on two layers of DVD simultaneously. Its specifications are described. The fabrication parameters of these two hybrid optical elements are derived.Item type:Item, Phosphorus vacancy as a deep level in AlInP layers(2000-06-15) ;Sung, WJ ;Wu, YR ;Lee, SC ;Wen, TCLi, TJDeep levels in AlInP layers, grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) with various V/III mole ratios, have been carefully investigated by deep-level transient spectroscopy (DLTS). A deep level originating from phosphorus vacancy was observed with the activation energy of 0.65 eV. Examining this phosphorus-vacancy-related deep level provided a relatively simple means of understanding the phosphorus vacancy in AlInP, thus allowing us to determine an appropriate V/III mole ratio for growing AlInP.
