Item type:Item, A crosslinked fullerene matrix doped with an ionic fullerene as a cathodic buffer layer toward high-performance and thermally stable polymer and organic metallohalide perovskite solar cells(2015-01-01) ;Chao, Yi-Hsiang ;Huang, Yi-You ;Chang, Jen-Yun ;Peng, Shih-HaoTu, Wei-YiIn this study, we developed a new cathodic buffer layer consisting of a cross-linked [6,6]-phenyl-C-61-butyric styryl dendron ester (C-PCBSD) matrix and an ionic FPI dopant. The incorporation of FPI can improve the electron mobility via an anion induced charge transfer (AIET) mechanism, while maintaining the solvent-resistant properties of the crosslinked layer. ZnO combined with the C-PCBSD/FPI layer can effectively and universally improve the performance of bulk-heterojunction polymer solar cells (BHJPSCs), planar heterojunction polymer solar cells (PHJPSCs), and organic metallohalide perovskite solar cells (OMPSCs). Furthermore, the insertion of the C-PCBSD/FPI layer can improve the thermal stability of the device by preventing the residual moisture in ZnO from diffusing into the CH3NH3PbI3 layer in OMPSCs.Item type:Item, Diversity and enterotype in gut bacterial community of adults in Taiwan(2017-01-01) ;Liang, Chao ;Tseng, Han-Chi ;Chen, Hui-Mei ;Wang, Wei-ChiChiu, Chih-MinBackground: Gastrointestinal microbiota, particularly gut microbiota, is associated with human health. The biodiversity of gut microbiota is affected by ethnicities and environmental factors such as dietary habits or medicine intake, and three enterotypes of the human gut microbiome were announced in 2011. These enterotypes are not significantly correlated with gender, age, or body weight but are influenced by long-term dietary habits. However, to date, only two enterotypes (predominantly consisting of Bacteroides and Prevotella) have shown these characteristics in previous research; the third enterotype remains ambiguous. Understanding the enterotypes can improve the knowledge of the relationship between microbiota and human health. Results: We obtained 181 human fecal samples from adults in Taiwan. Microbiota compositions were analyzed using next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, which is a culture-independent method of constructing microbial community profiles by sequencing 16S ribosomal DNA (rDNA). In these samples, 17,675,898 sequencing reads were sequenced, and on average, 215 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) were identified for each sample. In this study, the major bacteria in the enterotypes identified from the fecal samples were Bacteroides, Prevotella, and Enterobacteriaceae, and their correlation with dietary habits was confirmed. A microbial interaction network in the gut was observed on the basis of the amount of short-chain fatty acids, pH value of the intestine, and composition of the bacterial community (enterotypes). Finally, a decision tree was derived to provide a predictive model for the three enterotypes. The accuracies of this model in training and independent testing sets were 97.2 and 84.0%, respectively. Conclusions: We used NGS technology to characterize the microbiota and constructed a predictive model. The most significant finding was that Enterobacteriaceae, the predominant subtype, could be a new subtype of enterotypes in the Asian population.Item type:Item, Diversity and enterotype in gut bacterial community of adults in Taiwan(2017-01-25) ;Liang, Chao ;Tseng, Han-Chi ;Chen, Hui-Mei ;Wang, Wei-ChiChiu, Chih-MinBackground: Gastrointestinal microbiota, particularly gut microbiota, is associated with human health. The single crystal structure of 5,6-difluoro-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl) benzothiadiazole (Th2FBT) first confirms the low conformational preference of the FBT containing molecule. Since the crystallization process does not assist in unifying the conformation of Th2FBT, both intrachain conformation and interchain c-shifts in the crystalline state of PTh4FBT have to be scrutinized. By comparing the 2D WAXS pattern of PTh4FBT and the simulated patterns generated from Cerius(2) molecular modeling, it was found that the diffraction pattern generated from the lattice containing PTh4FBT with anti-conformation and limited interchain c-shift matches best with the experimental one. The face-to-face interchain stacking of PTh4FBT rendered strong crystalline nature to the polymer and caused large segregation in the PTh4FBT-PC71BM blend system, which was indicated by the TEM and GI WAXS morphological studies. The aggregation size was reduced via the use of the 1-chloronaphthalene additive. The optimized morphology led to improved J(sc) and FF. The single-junction PTh4FBT-PC71BM based polymer solar cells deliver a high PCE of 7.75% with a V-oc of 0.76 V, a J(sc) of 14.36 mA cm(-2), and a FF of 71.0%.Item type:Item, Synthesis and morphological studies of a poly(5,6-difluorobenzo-2,1,3-thiadiazole-4,7-diyl-alt-quaterchalcogenophene) copolymer with 7.3% polymer solar cell efficiency(2014-11-21) ;Wu, Jhong-Sian ;Jheng, Jyun-Fong ;Chang, Jen-Yun ;Lai, Yu-YingWu, Kuan-YiTo obtain a poly(5,6-difluorobenzo-2,1,3-thiadiazole-4,7-diyl-alt-quaterchalcogenophene) (P(FBT-alt-CP4)) copolymer with a small optical band gap (E-g), and to achieve high short-circuit current (J(sc)) in the P(FBT-alt-CP4) : PC71BM polymer solar cells (PSCs), P(FBT-alt-Se2Th2), which contains selenophene-2,5-diyl (-Se-) pi-bridges, was synthesized. P(FBT-alt-Se2Th2) shows a Eg of 1.56 eV and is strongly aggregated in solution. Wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GI-XRD) results revealed the high solid-state order of P(FBT-alt-Se2Th2) and its edge-on orientation on the substrate. It delivered a high hole mobility (mu(h)) of 0.36 cm(2) V-1 s(-1) in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). The strong aggregation tendency of P(FBT-alt-Se2Th2) caused large segregation domains in the P(FBT-alt-Se2Th2) : PC71BM thin film, as is seen in the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) images. The addition of 8 vol% of 1-chloronaphthalene (1-CN) effectively suppressed the aggregation and led to more homogeneous active layer morphology. The improved morphology enhanced the J(sc) of the PSCs. A superior PCE of 7.34% with a V-oc of 0.70 V, a J(sc) of 15.8 mA cm(-2), and a FF of 66.4% was achieved in the inverted P(FBT-alt-Se2Th2) : PC71BM PSCs. The strong aggregation of P(FBT-alt-Se2Th2) is likely related to its more straight conjugated backbone according to the theoretical calculation results of the FBT-alt-Se2Th2 repeat unit.
