Item type:Item, Effect of different gold nanoparticle sizes to build an electrical detection DNA between nanogap electrodes(2007-05-01) ;Chang, Tien-Li ;Lee, Ya-Wei ;Chen, Chun-Chi ;Ko, Fu-Hsiang材料科學與工程學系奈米科技碩博班An experimental study for identifying DNA strands immobilized in the different particle sizes of gold nanoparticle (AuNP) between nanogap electrodes is presented. The nanogap-based electrics chip demonstrates a significant electrical property with a target DNA (DNA) concentration of 10 pM in the different particle sizes of AuNP to be analyzed in order to make the assay useful for an integrated lab-on-a-chip application system. The biochips with nanogap electrodes are fabricated by e-beam lithography (EBL). Different from traditional detection methods including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based on assays which are expensive and time consuming for DNA strands research. By the method of electrical characterization, a change in measured current through the different particle sizes of AuNP can pave the way for further use in sensitive biomolecule detection study. The model considers the approach of non-linear autoregressive moving average model with exogenous inputs (NARMAX) to analyze the dynamic flow behavior of droplet that can be helpful to design microjet geometry in bionanotechnology application. The study in microjet controls a droplet size that is arrival at nanoliter volumes. The working fluids in experimental measuring process are the solution of gold nanoparticles and oil acid. This study focuses on a real time for droplet behavior with the variety of pressure in the channel. Based on identifying both time and frequency domain models, the behavior of droplet flow could be analyzed in microfluidic on-chip system. The optimal laser structuring conditions consisted of pulse repetition rate of 100 kHz, the scanning speed of two galvano scanners of 600 mm/s, the laser fluence of 3.4 J/cm(2), and parallel lines of the laser processing path with the line-scan spacing of 1 mu m in one-cycle process to produce the parallel electrode structures. The surface morphology, cross-sectional profile, optical spectra, and material characterizations on graphene/glass substrates were detected by a confocal laser scanning microscope, a scanning electron microscope (SEM), a spectrophotometer, and a Raman spectroscopy, respectively. The parallel electrode sensing chips had been successfully used to detect the moisturizing efficacy of solutions containing moisturizers with 0, 3, 6, and 9 wt% 1,3-Butylene Glycol concentrations. The experimental results showed that the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy combined with graphene sensing chips had high sensitivity and saving time than weight loss of solutions detected by the precision electronic balance.Item type:Item, Manipulating mimicked magnetosome chains produced Using superparamagnetic microbeads in a confined space(2016-03-05) ;Li, Yan-Hom ;Su, Ting-Yu ;Chang, Tien-Li ;Lee, Ya-Wei機械工程學系In this study, we investigated the dynamics of microchains containing superparamagnetic microbeads under the influence of oscillating magnetic fields in a confined space. The behavior of constrained microchains was investigated experimentally. Chains in confined spaces were first formed using a static directional field or a permanent magnet and then manipulated using an additional dynamical perpendicular field. An oscillating chain in a confined space can be designed to mimic magnetosome chains synthesized by magnetotactic bacteria, which have been exploited recently for various applications in biological and medical sciences. The effects of crucial parameters, such as the lengths of particle chains and sizes of confined spaces, were thoroughly analyzed to observe the distinct behavior and investigate the dynamics of the constrained chains. Conventional processes often involve several steps, such as wet chemical or dry etching, for surface structuring of sapphire. In this study, two-dimensional array patterns on the sapphire surface with an area of 5x5 mm(2) and a depth of 1.2 +/- 0.1 mu m can be directly and easily fabricated by a single step of the FS-laser process, which involves 350-fs laser pulses with a wavelength of 517 nm at a repetition rate of 100 kHz. The measured ablation depths on the sapphire surface display that the proposed process can be under well-controlled conditions. Based on the design changes for being quickly implemented in the micromachining process, a FS laser can be a promising and competitive tool for patterning sapphire with an acceptable quality for industrial usage.Item type:Item, Study of Metals by Femtosecond Laser Processing for Electro-Optics Applications(2012) ;Chang, Cho-Wei ;Chang, Tien-Li ;Tsai, Ting-Kai ;Ting, Chia-JenWang, Chien-PingFemtosecond laser (FS-laser) microstructuring of metals has become a promising tool because of its non-contact nature, which allows the micromachining and direct processing of materials with a minimized volume of heat-affected zone for electro-optics applications such as light emitting diodes (LED) and solar photovoltaic (PV) lighting. This study presents ultra-short pulse (10(-15) sec) FS-laser processing. Through integrating the laser source, optical system and dynamic control modules, the materials of metals with micro-scale or nano-scale structures can be fabricated. In traditional processing such as semiconductor processing, development, exposure and etching necessitate expensive equipment and time-consuming tasks. With FS-laser processing, high-precision patterns are obtained, which will be a great benefit to keeping costs down. In this study, the wavelengths of FS-laser ablation are employed using visible and infrared light. To make a breakthrough in electro-optics processes, the CIGS thin-film of solar cells in metal process can be easily produced by the FS-laser. The ablation speed of the FS-laser for thin film layer CIGS solar cells can reach 2000 mm/s which is faster than the current Nd:YAG laser machine (similar to 1000 mm/s). On the other hand, the minimum size of metal lines can be controlled to a value that is lower than 40 mu m. Furthermore, green energy can be effectively developed for the future.
