Item type:Item, Adopting AHP Approach on Evaluation and Selection of Outsourcing Destination in East and Southeast Asia(2013) ;Chen, James K. C. ;Van Kien Pham ;Yuan, Benjamin J. C. ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyOutsourcing is regarded as one of the most popular strategies whereby firms can focus on core competencies when outsourcing to the rest of their overseas partners. Before companies step beyond their country boundaries, it is vital to evaluate and select the best destination for an outsourcing service. Unfortunately, only a few studies have been done to help firms make decisions in relation to evaluating a potential outsourcing partner. The purpose of this paper is to solve this problem by constructing a hierarchy model via the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach. In the study, seven typical outsourcing countries in the East and South East Asia (China, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) were chosen as possible alternatives for outsourcing companies based on four main evaluating criteria. These are: (1) cost competiveness; (2) human resources; (3) business and economic environments; (4) government policies and legal framework. Each criterion includes key sub-criteria as shown in the hierarchy model. The results showed that cost competiveness is the most important factor in the second level of the hierarchy and it results in the dominance of employee salary, taxes, freight price, and real estate costs respectively in the third level. For these reasons, China and Indonesia are the best outsourcing destinations. Besides, Vietnam and Thailand are emerging to be attractive countries due to their low labor costs and new government policies. Finally, the research meets the need of rational selection of the outsourcing countries and provides a great practical significance to practitioners.Item type:Item, Build an education resources allocation planning model of school with integrating Information Technology(2008) ;Chen, James K. C. ;Chen, Kevin C. Y. ;Lin, Sin-Yi ;Yuan, Benjamin J. C.科技管理研究所The most important core competences of school education resources allocation is the teaching activities of integrating information technology into instruction. This paper explores integrating information technology into instruction how to build an education resources allocation planning model using De Novo programming for case study. We expect building an efficient planning model of integrating information technology into instruction for school education resources allocation, and using De Novo programming for achieving aspired/desired level base on education resources allocation of school. How we can be in the set budget for accomplishing the resources allocation with minimum cost. In empirical case we rind if the resource limitation is loosen, and De Novo programming and resources allocation project management are implemented, the optimal resource allocation of integrating information technology into instruction will be achieved and the cost of school management can be reduced.Item type:Item, Exploring Correlation of Industry Cluster Alternative with Cluster Formation and Correlation of Cluster Formation with Cluster Effect: A Case Study of Taiwan Precision Machinery Industry(2008) ;Chen, James K. C. ;Yuan, Benjamin J. C. ;He, Joe Z. Y. ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyThis research purpose was to explore industry cluster alternative factors, cluster formatting factors, cluster effect factors, and correlation of cluster alternative dimensions with cluster formation dimensions, and correlation of industry cluster formatting dimensions and industry cluster effect dimensions. This research utilizes Taiwan precision machinery industry for a case study. The methodology is through experts method, factor examination, to explore the industry cluster alternative factors, cluster formation factors, and cluster effect factors; Utilizing canonical correlation analysis of the multiple-regression analysis explores correlation of industry cluster alternative dimensions with cluster formation dimensions, and correlation of cluster formation domain with cluster effect domain. The result was discovered: industry cluster alternative dimensions and industry cluster formatting dimensions have significant correlation. The higher the selectivity of industry cluster alternative will have the higher clusters formatting. Industry cluster formatting dimensions and industry cluster effect dimensions have significant correlation. The higher the selectivity of industry clusters formatting will have the higher clusters effect.
