Adopting an appropriate RFID-based information system has become increasingly important for enterprises making complex and highly customized products. However, most firms still use conventional barcode and run-card systems to manage their manufacturing processes. These systems often require human intervention during the production process. As a result, traditional systems are not able to fulfill the growing demand for managing dynamic process flows and are not able to obtain real-time work-in-process (WIP) views in mass customization manufacturing. This paper proposes an agent-based distributed production control framework with UHF RFID technology to help firms adapt to such a dynamic and agile manufacturing environment. This paper reports the design and development of the framework and the application of UHF RFID technology in manufacturing and logistic control applications. The framework's RFID event processing agent model is implemented in a smart end-point (SEP) device. A SEP can manage RFID readers, wirelessly communicate with shop-floor machines, make local decisions, and coordinate with other SEPs. A case study of a bicycle manufacturing company demonstrates how the proposed framework could improve a firm's mass customization operations. Results of experiments show the decentralized multiagent coordination scheme among SEPs outperformed the current practice of the firm in terms of reducing work-in-process and parts inventory.Item type:Item, Agent-Based Control Framework for Mass Customization Manufacturing With UHF RFID Technology (vol 3, pg 343, 2009)(2009-12-01) ;Tu, Mengru (Arthur) ;Lin, Jia-Hong ;Chen, Ruey-Shun ;Chen, Kai-YingJwo, Jung-SingItem type:Item, An Effective Digital System for Intelligent Financial Environments(2019-01-01) ;Zhang, Wenyuan ;Chen, Ruey-Shun ;Chen, Yeh-Cheng ;Lu, S-YXiong, NaixueA good set of the financial system could take care of all accounting entries and their impacts on the whole intelligent financial environment. The total flow of money and total expenditures will be reflected here. The virtual observatory (VO) concept is the astronomical community's response to alleviate this problem and Web services serve as one of the most important VO enabling technologies. However, one of the limitations of Web services is the lack of semantic description of its content, thus prohibits its ability to understand the queries and its inference capabilities. This study proposes to develop a conceptual framework based on multi-agent systems and ontology technology, in order to create a VO with semantically enriched Web services. Intelligent agents represent: (1) users to submit requests (2) perform semantic matching in between users' requests and Web services registered within agent platform, and (3) activate a serial of Web services. The capabilities offered by multi-agent systems to query and invoke semantically enriched Web Services is also exploited in this study. To validate the proposed framework, an illustration example is implemented in JADE agent platform to demonstrate how the proposed framework operates and how it benefits the research regarding to auroral images. The overwhelming increase of population will lead to an increase network traffic usage. In most products, local cache mechanism is implemented for the purpose of reducing the network traffics. However, the database designed to store cache is limited, lot of times, cache will get purged when there are lots of queries sent and replaced by other newest queries. It is not an efficient by using traditional methodology to build or forming cache. In order to reduce the network traffic usage, the paper propose a solution, which utilize data mining technique with clustering concept, by gathering the current feedback data we have from our SPN, we are able to form these data in groups with similarity, and by deploying these data to client side, to achieve the reduction of traffic usage. In prototyping, this design for military communications can really reduce network traffic more than 20%. And the speed of file scanning time can faster more than 12%.Item type:Item, Design and Analysis of a Strengthen Internal Control Scheme for Smart Trust Financial Service(2019-01-01) ;Xiao, Fengjun ;Chen, Ruey-Shun ;Zhang, Wenyuan ;Chen, Yeh-ChengLu, S-YThe construction of the financial module is very important in the intelligent management of the company. The collection, transmission, and processing of relevant item information in the financial module are of great significance to the construction of the intelligent financial module. The intelligent financial processing module can improve financial office efficiency and increase the security of the financial processing process. Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404) has always played a decisive role in the quality and transparency of the financial modules of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) of multinational corporations, due to the mandatory nature of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The purpose of this research is to design a set of intelligent ERP financial modules for multinational corporations that could comply with SOX 404, strengthen internal controls, and improve the security and convenience of the financial module. Thereby achieving intelligent management of financial modules and intelligent prevention of risks. Our solution could fortify the preventive controls over inappropriate payments to products with quality issues, reduce manual efforts for credit memo issuance and receipt. It could also fortify the preventive controls over financial risks potentially threatened by a sudden contingent liability concerning E&O issues. It could prevent potential and unexpected frauds arisen by a malicious user to meet the requirements of SOX over preventive and detective controls over the financial system. C.Chen, C. C.With the advent of the knowledge economy and the prevailing of the information technology, libraries are gradually introducing the automation mechanism to provide more convenient service. The time lag of the information retrieval still has influence on librarians' and readers' knowledge of the actual status of the library collections. The current practice is that the circulation record and circulation status are updated at the time when the book is borrowed or returned, with the identification component on the book or media being sensed. However, some readers use the reference books, periodicals and audio-video media in the library, therefore before the books are registered on the counter, the status of books in the library cannot be precisely confirmed, often making the information of the book shelves presented by the library database information not precisely reflecting their actual status. The "Integrated Library Service Application Platform" in this paper employs the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to construct the smart book shelf, and it is used as the trigger point for updating the retrieval status of the book to eliminate bottleneck at the counter that cannot render the real-time circulation status of book in the library upon borrowing or returning the book. With the help of software agent system to integrate the information architecture of the library and provide intelligent service applications, the overall structure is conducive in enhancing the circulation efficiency of the library collections and improving the satisfaction of readers.Item type:Item, Intelligent service-integrated platform based on the RFID technology and software agent system(2011-04-01) ;Yeh, Kun-Chieh ;Chen, Ruey-Shun ;Chen, Chia-Chen ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceThe mobility of the popular goods on the shelves will have a crucial impact on the store sales. For retailers, the seasonal or news-induced demand for commodity will have the flocking effect or business opportunity lasting for some time; if the product shortage occurs, consumers will immediately turn to other stores, and the sale opportunity will be missed. Traditionally, to confirm the demand for commodity, the stores primarily employ the point-of-sale (POS) system to monitor the inventory of goods, but the turnover rate of popular goods is very demanding. The inventory information supplied by the POS system is that generated after the ledger-closing stage, and it cannot precisely match the actual quantity of goods on the shelves. Therefore, in order to prevent the monetary loss due to the information gap, we propose the "intelligent service-integrated platform", which employs the software agent as the framework to construct the integrated information system mechanism. We also employ the radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to realize the smart shelf as the trigger point for the retrieval of commodity message. At the same time, we develop the interactive information platform to provide the consultation and promotion service of goods. The overall framework will help enhance the performance of the sales outlets and improve the customer service, while addressing the time effect issue of the popular commodity. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. Reusing analysis knowledge in the same domain and the common library can help to build up high-quality applications in limited developing time. System analysis patterns enable a software application to model a specific problem by representing some domain classes and their relationships as modeling components. In this paper, a conceptual model was developed that emphasized the role of analysis pattern and domain library for application with ontology including domain model and dynamic characteristics of classes in tree maps. The result shows two conclusions were derived: first, less development and requirement changes the process costs with common library in ontology and we easy to search and reuse the library components. The second, it is more highly user satisfaction due to the system flexibility and more patients were paid for requirement changes.
