Item type:Item, Better to be flexible than to have flunked The mediating role of service flexibility and its determinants for team performance(2015) ;Lin, Chieh-Peng ;Joe, Sheng-Wuu ;Chen, Shih-Chih ;Wang, Huei-Jyuan交大名義發表Purpose - High team performance helps achieve several organizational benefits, such as strengthened competitive advantages, enhanced productivity, and higher profits and market share. For these reasons, the purpose of this paper is to propose a model based on the framework of proactive motivation and the theory of collectivism to analyze the formation of service flexibility and team performance. Design/methodology/approach - To test the hypotheses, this study conducts a survey of service staff in teams from high-tech firms in a well-known industrial zone in Northern Taiwan. These teams provide service for their industrial customers. From the survey, this study confirms the full mediating mechanism of service flexibility among the teams. Findings - The test results reveal that service flexibility fully mediates the relationship between team performance and its exogenous factors. Whereas collectivism negatively moderates the relationship between team efficacy and service flexibility, it does not moderate the relationship between service recovery and service flexibility. Furthermore, collectivism positively moderates the relationship between service flexibility and team performance. Originality/value - This study provides important findings that complement previous literature by examining three fresh antecedents for explaining how team performance is motivated by the mediating role of service flexibility and how some of the study\'s model paths are moderated by collectivism. The mediating role of service flexibility indicates that managers can apply service flexibility as a firewall that calibrates a team\'s input and output. Managers should encourage the application of agile solutions and advanced technology for facilitating team flexibility, consequently improving team performance.Item type:Item, Integrating Technology Readiness into the Expectation-Confirmation Model: An Empirical Study of Mobile Services(2013-08-01) ;Chen, Shih-Chih ;Liu, Ming-Ling ;Lin, Chieh-Peng ;經營管理研究所Institute of Business and ManagementThe aim of this study was to integrate technology readiness into the expectation-confirmation model (ECM) for explaining individuals' continuance of mobile data service usage. After reviewing the ECM and technology readiness, an integrated model was demonstrated via empirical data. Compared with the original ECM, the findings of this study show that the integrated model may offer an ameliorated way to clarify what factors and how they influence the continuous intention toward mobile services. Finally, the major findings are summarized, and future research directions are suggested.Item type:Item, Modeling leadership and team performance: The mediation of collective efficacy and the moderation of team justice(2019-01-01) ;Lin, Chieh-Peng ;Wang, Chu-Chun ;Chen, Shih-Chih ;Chen, Jui-Yu經營管理研究所Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop a research model that explains team performance based on social cognitive theory and social exchange theory. In the model, team performance indirectly relates to three kinds of leadership (i.e., charismatic, autocratic and considerate) via the full mediation of collective efficacy. At the same time, team justice as a focus in this study is examined as a moderator in the model. Design/methodology/approach The research hypotheses of this study were empirically tested using two-wave data collection across insurance sales teams from a leading bank holding company which is the largest bank holding company in Taiwan. In the first-wave data collection, researchers of this study surveyed six people anonymously from each sales team, including a team leader and five team members. Three months later, the researchers conducted the second-wave data collection by obtaining team performance data from the department of human resource management, which was an independent rater for each team's performance. Two-wave data collection from 59 teams was achieved for verifying the hypothesized effects. Findings The team-level test results show that collective efficacy fully mediates the relationship between charismatic leadership and team performance and between considerate leadership and team performance. Justice moderates the relationship between collective efficacy and team performance and between charismatic leadership and collective efficacy. Originality/value This study has two major theoretical implications. First, this study conceptualized three distinct kinds of leadership as major determinants of team performance from a social exchange perspective. Such a theoretical conceptualization of leadership not only broadens the boundary of leadership beyond traditional one such as transactional leadership based on the theory of contingent reward but also closely reflects the practical status quo of leadership of teams. Second, this research incorporated social exchange theory into the framework of team performance in social cognitive theory. Specifically, this study theorized and validated justice as a moderator in the development of team performance.Item type:Item, The impact of customer experience and perceived value on sustainable social relationship in blogs: An empirical study(2015-07-01) ;Chen, Shih-Chih ;Lin, Chieh-Peng ;經營管理研究所Institute of Business and ManagementBlogs are currently powerful instrument and their proliferation has attracted substantial attention from marketing practitioners and academics. The aim of this study is to propose a model to understand and examine during the formation of sustainable social relationships and the continued usage of blogs in marketing contexts. Two exogenous constructs - customer experience and perceived value - have not only directly influenced satisfaction and intention to continue to use blogs, but also indirectly affected customers\'/citizens\' sustainable social relationship with blogs through the mediation of satisfaction and continuance intention. The analysis results herein demonstrate that sustainable social relationship is determined significantly by continuance intention and satisfaction toward blogs, while the influences of customer experience and perceived value on continuance intention are both respectively significant. However, the direct influence of customer experience on continuance intention is insignificant In addition, this study examined and empirically confirmed the mediating role of continuance intention and satisfaction on blogs between customer experience and perceived value. Finally, the findings of this research propose the detailed theoretical and managerial implications for academicians, blog operators and government agencies. (C) 2014 Elsevier Inc. This research offers a theoretical understanding on the conceptual model regarding the formation of relationship quality and continuance intention towards m-banking by simultaneously considering service quality, perceived risk and technology readiness as exogenous impacts. Based on the online survey of 390 m-banking experienced participants, this study uses the structural equation modelling approach to test the research model. The results show that technology readiness and service quality has indirectly significant influence on continuance intention through the mediation of relationship quality, consisting of satisfaction and trust. Hence, perceived risk had surprisingly no significant impact on relationship quality. This study represents a thorough understanding on the research model of continuance intention, and the managerial implications of mobile banking to researchers and practitioners are discussed.Item type:Item, Understanding the effect of social media marketing activities: The mediation of social identification, perceived value, and satisfaction(2019-03-01) ;Chen, Shih-Chih ;Lin, Chieh-Peng ;經營管理研究所Institute of Business and ManagementWith the prevalence of Internet, social media has become an important means for online marketing events. Individuals and companies both create fan pages on online platforms and develop business opportunities using social media. While many past studies have investigated social media, few have mentioned the effects of social media marketing activities. This study proposed the effects of social media marketing activities on continuance intention, participation intention and purchase intention via the mediation of social identification, perceived value, and satisfaction. To empirically test the effects of social media marketing activities, this study conducted an online survey on 502 social media users for data analysis. The analytical results indicated that social media marketing activities indirectly affect satisfaction through social identification and perceived value. At the same time, social identification and perceived value directly affect satisfaction that then influences continuance intention, participation intention and purchase intention. Finally, the academic and management implications based on the empirical results of this study are provided as references for the improvement of social media marketing.
