Item type:Item, An Integrated MCDM Model for Glamour Stock Selection(2012-01-01) ;Shen, Kao-Yi ;Chen, Vivien Y. C. ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyStock market is full of opportunity and uncertainty, which is characterized by return and risk. Investors have to utilize their knowledge and experience to explore the available information for selecting stocks with good prospects. Investment professionals mainly utilize available financial information for making evaluation, which is often termed as fundamental analysis. Nevertheless, which financial information (variables/criteria) should be considered and the way for analysis is still inconclusive. Furthermore, while making comparison among a group of stocks, different criteria sometime reveal inconsistent signals. To handle the complexity of financial information analysis, this study proposes an integrated method to deal with the glamour stock evaluation problem. The method is based on an examined financial model. In the first stage, the weights of criteria are obtained by DANP method, and the second stage integrates the influential weights with expert's assessment for each criterion to complete the modified TOPSIS based on influential network relation map (INRM) for making decision in improvement direction. This study provides an empirical case for 5 real stocks in the Taiwan market as example. The suggested ranking result generated high correlation with the 5 stocks' subsequent holding period returns, which indicates the usefulness of the proposed method.Item type:Item, Combining DEMATEL and ANP with the Grey Relational Assessment Model for Improving the Planning in Regional Shopping Centers(2010) ;Chen, Vivien Y. C. ;Liu, Chui-Hua ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;Lee, Ming-HueiYang, Lung-ShihA novel MCDM (Multiple Criteria Decision-Making) for evaluating, comparing and improving the effectiveness of network-competence indicators in various needs that is choice for environment plan at the primary regional shopping center level. The ANP (Analytic Network Process) weights are based on a DEMATEL (Decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory) technique along with a grey relational assessment model to solve the problems of interdependence and feedback to evaluate and improve the gaps in each criterion for reducing the gaps to achieve the aspired/desired level. An empirical case is used to demonstrate that the hybrid MCDM model can be used to measure and evaluate regional shopping center problems in real cases. Results can be used to provide the decision-maker to choice the regional shopping center location. The proposed model can help practitioners improve their decision process, especially when criteria are numerous and inter-related. The data from a Taiwanese regional shopping centers is used to demonstrate this model.Item type:Item, Fuzzy MCDM approach for selecting the best environment-watershed plan(2011-01-01) ;Chen, Vivien Y. C. ;Lien, Hui-Pang ;Liu, Chui-Hua ;Liou, James J. H.Tzeng, Gwo-HshiungIn the real word, the decision-making problems are very vague and uncertain in a number of ways. Most of the criteria have interdependent and interactive features, so they cannot be evaluated by conventional measure method. Such as the feasibility, thus, to approximate the human subjective evaluation process, it would be more suitable to apply a fuzzy method in the environment-watershed plan topic. This paper describes the design of a fuzzy decision support system in multi-criteria analysis approach for selecting the best plan alternatives or strategies in environment watershed. The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) method is used to determine the preference weightings of criteria for decision makers by subjective perception (natural language). A questionnaire was used to find out from three related groups comprising 15 experts, including 5 from the university of expert scholars (include Water Resources Engineering and Conservation, Landscape and Recreation, Urban Planning, Environment Engineering, Architectural Engineering, etc.), 5 from the government departments, and 5 from industry. Subjectivity and vagueness analysis is dealt with the criteria and alternatives for selection process and simulation results by using fuzzy numbers with linguistic terms. It incorporated the decision-makers' attitude towards the preference; overall performance value of each alternative can be obtained based on the concept of fuzzy multiple-criteria decision-making (FMCDM). This research also gives an example of evaluation consisting of five alternatives, solicited from an environment-watershed plan work in Taiwan, is illustrated to demonstrate the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed approach. The result is useful for destination planning and the sustainability of watershed tourism resources as well. (C) 2010 Published by Elsevier B.V.
