Item type:Item, An Area-Efficient BCH Codec with Echelon Scheduling for NAND Flash Applications(2013-01-01) ;Yang, Chi-Heng ;Chen, Yi-Hsun ;Chang, Hsie-Chia ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsThis paper presents an area-efficient BCH codec with echelon scheduling for NAND flash memory systems. In our proposed design, instead of the common inversionless Berlekamp-Massey algorithm, the BM algorithm using a low-complexity 2-stage composite field divider is applied in the key equation solver. Moreover, by making use of the fact that the degree of error locator polynomial increases at most by 1 in each iteration, an echelon scheduling architecture with 6 finite field multipliers is presented. After implemented in UMC 1P9M 90 nm process, the proposed codec can achieve 385 MHz and 3.08 Gbit/s throughput with 147.8K gate-count from post-layout simulation results.Item type:Item, High Sensitivity Dark Mode Plasmonic Resonance of Gold Nanoantennas Arrays in Evanescent Waves(2015) ;Chen, Kuo-Ping ;Chen, Yi-Hsun ;Kuo, Yu-Lun ;Yang, Zhen-hongChang, Che-YuanPlasmonic dark modes of gold nanoantennas are observed in evanescent waves. Comparing with the bright mode for normal incidence of nanoantennas, dark mode resonance not only has a higher extinction coefficient but also achieves higher sensitivity to the surrounding environment. The sensitivity of the dark mode of gold nanoantenna is 4.84 times that of the bright mode in terms of the figure of merit.Item type:Item, Hybridization models of gold nanoantennas arrays in polarization dependent evanescent waves(2015-01-01) ;Chen, Kuo-Ping ;Chen, Yi-Hsun ;Chang, Che-Yuan ;Kuo, Yu-LunYang, Zhen-hongThe plasmonic coupling of nanoantennas could be explained by the plasmon hybridization model introduced. For symmetric nanoparticles pairs, the coupled mode can be shifted to higher or lower frequencies, depending on the phase of the fields from each nanoparticle. In p-polarization, the in-phase response is called bonding mode and out of phase response is called antibonding mode, which are analogous to the molecular orbital theory. The bonding mode, located at a lower energy level, could be strongly excited by normal incidence, but antibonding mode, located at a higher energy level, could hardly excited by normal incident plane wave and which is not easy to be observed. In literatures, the antibonding mode could only be excited by highly focused laser beams, the radiation from a local emitter, and the evanescent field produced by total internal reflection9. Although the observation is not easy, the antibonding mode has brought a lot of attention because of the slower radiative decay and narrower linewidths. However, there are not many researches discussing the sensor application of the plasmonic antibonding mode of nanoantenans arrays. In this work, gold nanoantennas antibonding mode in TM and TE polarized evanescent field is investigated and the sensitivity to the refractive index change of surrounding medium is compared to bonding mode in normal incidence. Furthermore, in normal incidence, due to the impedance mismatch between the dielectric and substrate, strong reflectance happens at the resonance in bonding mode which could reduce the coupling efficiency. In order to achieve higher energy coupling efficiency, total internal reflection could be used to minimize the impedance mismatch and transfer the input energy into antibonding mode plasmonic resonance.Item type:Item, Microwave Spectral Characteristics of the Three-Section Distributed Feedback Lasers(2018-01-01) ;Chen, Chun-Hong ;Hsiao, Fu-Chun ;Dong, Yao-Zhong ;Chan, Yueh-LinChen, Yi-HsunThe three-section DFB lasers are used for RF signal generation. With an extra section, it can lime the RF peak frequency farther than the two-section one, and can also simultaneously generate two single-mode RF signals.Item type:Item, Observation of the high-sensitivity plasmonic dipolar antibonding mode of gold nanoantennas in evanescent waves(2014-07-21) ;Chen, Yi-Hsun ;Chen, Kuo-Ping ;Shih, Min-Hsiung ;Chang, Che-Yuan照明與能源光電研究所Plasmonic dipolar antibonding modes of gold nanoantennas are observed in evanescent waves. TiN thin films with thicknesses of 20-40 nm were deposited with different average sputtering powers, and exhibited metallic-and dielectric-like optical properties. When the sputtering power was increased from 80 W to 300 W, denser polycrystalline TiN thin films were obtained at room temperature (RT) with a conductivity 25 times that of the low-sputtering-power film. With sufficient average power (>= 180 W), the films exhibited metallic-like optical properties, and a conductivity of >10(5) S/m. By using HiPIMS deposition, good-quality metallic-like TiN thin films could be fabricated at RT without heating the substrate. In order to achieve higher near-field enhancement, total internal reflection (TIR) is used to transfer the input energy into localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Base on this geometry, multiple coupling modes are observed and the magnitude of electric field shows 6.9 time higher than the traditional gold film sensor.
