Item type:Item, An image based optical lens eccentric error inspection system(2012) ;Chen, Yung-Hsiang ;Hsieh, Yao-Fang ;Hsu, Chia-Wei ;Ou-Yang, MangLee, Cheng-ChungIn this study, we have presented the prototype of optical lens eccentric error inspection system based on image processing algorithms. The traditional inspection by using the transmission or reflection measurements is limited to the geometry and size of the lens. In this study, an image based inspection system has developed target on fast, accurate and low-cost to meet the need for lens eccentric error inspection.Item type:Item, Antioxidative and hepatoprotective effects of magnolol on acetaminophen-induced liver damage in rats(2009-02-01) ;Chen, Yung-Hsiang ;Lin, Feng-Yen ;Liu, Po-Len ;Huang, Yi-TsauChiu, Jen-HweyAcute liver failure (ALF), an often fatal condition characterized by massive hepatocyte necrosis, is frequently caused by drug poisoning, particularly with acetaminophen (N-acetyl-p-aminophenol/APAP). Hepatocyte necrosis is consecutive to glutathione (GSH) depletion and mitochondrial damage caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction. Magnolol, one major phenolic constituent of Magnolia officinalis, have been known to exhibit potent antioxidative activity. In this study, the anti-hepatotoxic activity of magnolol on APAP-induced toxicity in the Sprague-Dawley rat liver was examined. After evaluating the changes of several biochemical parameters in serum, the levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were elevated by APAP (500 mg/kg) intraperitoneal administration (8 and 24 h) and reduced by treatment with magnolol (0.5 h after APAP administration; 0.01, 0.1, and 1 mu g/kg). Histological changes around the hepatic central vein, lipid peroxidation (thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance/TBARS), and GSH depletion in liver tissue induced by APAP were also recovered by magnolol treatment. The data show that oxidative stress followed by lipid peroxidation may play a very important role in the pathogenesis of APAP-induced hepatic injury; treatment with lipid-soluble antioxidant, magnolol, exerts anti-hepatotoxic activity. Our study points out the potential interest of magnolol in the treatment of toxic ALF.Item type:Item, Real-time Middle Wave Infrared Aerial Image Capturing and Stitching System for Vegetation Observation(2015) ;Lin, Chun-Fu ;Lin, Sheng-Fuu ;Hwang, Wen-Jyi ;Chen, Yung-HsiangHwang, Chi-HungOver the last decades, several studies have demonstrated the reflectance effectiveness of middle wave infrared (MWIR) for discriminating among different types of vegetation, and estimating the total and leaf biomass of several forest ecosystems. Therefore, a MWIR aerial image capturing system for vegetation observation is urgently required. Furthermore, stitching those MWIR aerial images together is necessary for a panorama of the region of interest (ROI). Most traditional stitching algorithms for aerial images are designed for visible images, and are not suitable for infrared images that are noisy, blurry, or lack detail. In this paper, a novel real-time MWIR aerial image capturing and stitching system for vegetation observation is proposed. The proposed stitching algorithm for aerial infrared images improved from scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) and random M-least square can find a sufficient number of feature points easily and perform rapid calculations. Therefore, the proposed MWIR aerial image capturing and stitching system for vegetation observation can operate in real time.
