Item type:Item, A study of the total chromatic number of equibipartite graphs(1998-04-06) ;Chen, BL ;Cheng, CK ;Fu, HL ;Huang, KC應用數學系The total chromatic number chi(t)(G) of a graph G is the least number of colors needed to color the vertices and edges of G so that no adjacent vertices or edges receive the same color, no incident edges receive the same color as either of the vertices it is incident with. In this paper, we obtain some results of the total chromatic number of the equibiparrite graphs of order 2n with maximum degree n - 1. As a part of our results, we disprove the biconformability conjecture. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. However, for the reasons of insufficient data or uncertain demand of maintenance requirement that we have, the traditional forecasting method is generally hard to predict the optimal quantity of spare parts fitting the requirement. In this Study, we introduce Grey Prediction Model (GPM) to coping with such problem. After taking three types weapon system periodic items of planning material from 1999 to 2002, we then apply GM(1,1) model to predict the planning requirement of intermittent spare parts of 2003. In order to verify the performance of our forecasting model, we also compare the results With the observed data which are calculated by the rule of technical manual of equipments. Through this Study, we demonstrate that the GM(1,1) conduct a good accuracy on prediction of spare pails especially in Sialations of insufficient data, which accurate prediction should reduce the operation cost and improve the reliability of maintenance equipment.Item type:Item, Morphological changes of the triceps surae muscle-tendon unit during passive extension: an in vivo rabbit model(1998-12-01) ;Sun, JS ;Hang, YS ;Tsuang, YH ;Cheng, CKTsao, KYObjective. To elucidate the morphological and biomechanical manifestation of the triceps surae muscle-tendon unit during passive extension. Design. The instantaneous changes within the load-deformation curve of muscle-tendon unit were analyzed by an in vivo rabbit model. Background. Although muscle strains occur more frequently than complete failures, the failure mechanism of these sub-failure injuries is rarely investigated. Monitoring of the instantaneous changes in the load-deformation curve allows correlation with the morphological changes that occur during passive extension. Methods. After anesthesia, the triceps surae muscle of rabbit was dissected and then stretched to failure by a MTS Bionix 858 machine. The morphological changes in failure patterns were recorded by photographs. Results. The morphological and biomechanical manifestations of the triceps surae muscle-tendon unit was divided into five different portions: first, the viscoelastic portion with minimal morphologic change; second, the portion of micro-failure with local ecchymosis; third and fourth, the portions of macrofailure with sequential rupture of the muscle fibers; and filth, the portion of rupture and separation of muscle parenchyma. Conclusions. A threshold for stretch-induced injury does exist. The threshold of the initiation of micro-failure in this model was 16.5% of the strain, which corresponded to 16.6% of the maximal sustainable force. Relevance Elucidation of the existence of micro-failure in skeletal muscle gives a good reference point to determine the functional capabilities and limitation of muscular tissue. With this, the deleterious effect of muscle stretching can be avoided by limiting muscle stretching to below this limit. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
