Item type:Item, A Novel Real-Time Speech Summarizer System for the Learning of Sustainability(2015-04-01) ;Wang, Hsiu-Wen ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Wu, Yu-RouLo, Chi-ChunAs the number of speech and video documents increases on the Internet and portable devices proliferate, speech summarization becomes increasingly essential. Relevant research in this domain has typically focused on broadcasts and news; however, the automatic summarization methods used in the past may not apply to other speech domains (e.g., speech in lectures). Therefore, this study explores the lecture speech domain. The features used in previous research were analyzed and suitable features were selected following experimentation; subsequently, a three-phase real-time speech summarizer for the learning of sustainability (RTSSLS) was proposed. Phase One involved selecting independent features (e.g., centrality, resemblance to the title, sentence length, term frequency, and thematic words) and calculating the independent feature scores; Phase Two involved calculating the dependent features, such as the position compared with the independent feature scores; and Phase Three involved comparing these feature scores to obtain weighted averages of the function-scores, determine the highest-scoring sentence, and provide a summary. In practical results, the accuracies of macro-average and micro-average for the RTSSLS were 70% and 73%, respectively. Therefore, using a RTSSLS can enable users to acquire key speech information for the learning of sustainability.Item type:Item, A Real-Time Pothole Detection Approach for Intelligent Transportation System(2015-01-01) ;Wang, Hsiu-Wen ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Lin, Chun-HaoLo, Chi-ChunIn recent years, fast economic growth and rapid technology advance have led to significant impact on the quality of traditional transport system. Intelligent transportation system(ITS), which aims to improve the transport system, has become more and more popular. Furthermore, improving the safety of traffic is an important issue of ITS, and the pothole on the road causes serious harm to drivers' safety. Therefore, drivers' safety may be improved with the establishment of real-time pothole detection system for sharing the pothole information. Moreover, using the mobile device to detect potholes has been more popular in recent years. This approach can detect potholes with lower cost in a comprehensive environment. This study proposes a pothole detection method based on the mobile sensing. The accelerometer data is normalized by Euler angle computation and is adopted in the pothole detection algorithm to obtain the pothole information. Moreover, the spatial interpolation method is used to reduce the location errors from global positioning system (GPS) data. In experiments, the results show that the proposed approach can precisely detect potholes without false-positives, and the higher accuracy is performed by the proposed approach. Therefore, the proposed real-time pothole detection approach can be used to improve the safety of traffic for ITS.Item type:Item, A study on representation of QoS in UDDI for web services composition(2008) ;Lo, Chi-Chun ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Lin, Ping-Chi ;Chao, Kuo-Ming資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所With the increasing popularity of deploying web services, quality of service (QoS) becomes a significant concern for service consumers and providers for service selection. However representing and storing the values of QoS attributes are problematic, as the current Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) was not designed to accommodate these emerging requirements. To solve the problems of storing QoS in UDDI and aggregating QoS values, three different approaches, namely type, keyword based and ontological approaches to model QoS tModel (Technical Model) have been proposed. The aim is to study these approaches and other existing QoS tModel representation for their efficiency and consistency in service selection. In this paper we also report a number of experimental results based on an example in order to evaluate these approaches.Item type:Item, A TRUST MECHANISM FOR WEB SERVICES REGISTRIES DATA EXCHANGING(2012-11-01) ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Lin, Bon-Yeh ;Lu, Yin-JungLo, Chi-ChunIn recent years, Web Services (WS) have been becoming more popular, as more people realize its benefits. However, the WS-Security specification only guarantees the security on end-to-end level. We propose the architecture of Trust-based Web Services Registries Data Exchanging (TWSRDE) which is four-tier architecture composed of the users, Web Service Providers (WSP) in Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) server, Enhance Web Services Registry (EWSR), and extra Web Services Registries (WSReg). The EWSR provides the trust mechanism which considers physical space and concept space to infer the trust value of WS for WSReg data exchanging.Item type:Item, A user centric service-oriented modeling approach(2011-07-01) ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Chao, Kuo-Ming ;Lo, Chi-Chun ;Tsai, Chen-Fang資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所With rapid development of service-oriented architecture and cloud computing, web services have been widely employed on the Internet. Quality of Service (QoS) is a very important criterion for service consumers to measure and select services. The selection of web services with respect to non-functional QoS criteria can be considered as a Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem when multiple consumers need to share a number of services. This paper describes a new user centric service-oriented modeling approach which is featured by integrating fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Service Component Architecture (SCA) to facilitate web service selection and composition and to effectively satisfy a group of service consumers' subjective requirements and preferences in the dynamic environment. The main contribution of this method is able to translate a group of users' fuzzy requirements to services as well as model different levels of hardware and software as services to meet the requirements. We also design a simulated environment that includes 8*8 LED matrix on a circuit board that corresponds to an office with different appliances to demonstrate the dynamic service selection and binding. The simulation is used to assess the computational efficiency of the fuzzy TOPSIS method and the effectiveness of the proposed system.Item type:Item, BUILDING COOPERATION IN VOIP NETWORK THROUGH A REWARD MECHANISM(2008) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Jhang-Li, Jhih-Hua ;交大名義發表National Chiao Tung UniversityIn this paper, for solving the moral hazard problem of super nodes in VOIP network and achieving better communication quality, we establish a reward mechanism based on classical efficiency-wage models. In the reward mechanism, the function of reward is to encourage super nodes to contribute their bandwidth and cover their effort costs, whereas the function of fine is to prevent opportunistic super nodes from shirking. We consider that network quality and idle bandwidth are the essential criterions for selecting qualified super nodes. Once all super nodes can satisfy specific conditions, the required reward can be derived so as to improve the VoIP platform's revenue. Moreover, we also suggest several targets both in technical and economic view that the platform provider can strive in order to boost his/her market share. In addition, the case of Skype is discussed in this study and we also examine its current pricing strategy.Item type:Item, Design and Implementation of Situation-Aware Medical Tourism Service Search System(2008) ;Lo, Chi-Chun ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Yan, Jin-Shaiang資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Recently medical tourism is becoming more popular, as more people realize its benefits. The main benefits of health tourism include getting the opportunity to travel to an exotic destination and reaping potentially big monetary savings [8]. Therefore, Taiwan Medical Tourism Development Association (TMTDA) was established to research and hold relevant medical tourism activities in August 2007. In this paper, we propose a new Medical Tourism Service (NITS) recommend system, the designed Situation-Aware Medical Tourism Service Search System (SAMTS(3)), which provides the cooperation web-based platform for all related Mobile Users (MUs) and Medical Tourism Service Providers (MTSPs), could strengthen the ability of NITS suggestion. SAMTS(3) is a five-tier system composed of the MUs, UDDI Registries (UDDIRs), MTSPs, Medical Tourism Services Server (MTSS), and Database Server (DS). Using SOA, OWLS to build semantic web environment to inference user's medical requirements and search adaptive NITS and web services which are published in UDDI through the communication networks include internet and 3G/GPRS/GSM mobile networks. In this paper, we propose the specific Medical Tourism Stemming Mechanism (MTSM), Medical Ontology (MO), and Adaptive Medical Tourism Inference Module (AMTIM) combined Term Frequency - Inversed Document Frequency (TF - IDF), Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA), and k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN) to reference the adaptable NITS to MUs.Item type:Item, Designing and Implementing a Real-Time Speech Summarizer System(2014-01-01) ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Wu, Yu-Rou ;Lo, Chi-ChunLin, Hui-FeiAs the number of speech and video documents increases on the Internet and portable devices proliferate, speech summarization becomes increasingly essential. This change has been evident in the decreased ratio of planned purchases but not in the increase of planned (or spontaneous) purchases. This act of spontaneous or otherwise unplanned purchasing is called "impulse buying". However, buying under these conditions costs more money always comes with negative responses, such as complaints and regret. Therefore, we propose and have designed a new merchandise recommendation system, the Mobile Merchandise Evaluation Service Platform (MMESP). This is a three-tier system composed of Real-time Merchandise Identifying System (RMIS), Real-time Merchandise Evaluation System (RMES), and Real-time Merchandise Recommendation System (RMRS). With this system, Mobile Users (MUs) take pictures of merchandise and send them to MMESP. RMIS integrates Region Adjacency Graph (RAG) and Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) to gather information on the merchandise through those photographs, and. RMES and RMRS provide Intelligence Agents (IAs) and Multiple Document Summarization (MDS) to summarize recommendations on merchandise for MUs, all in real time. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. However, establishing communication applications based on P2P networks without considering the operational models of the Internet presents potential dangers. In this study, we treat a VoIP telephone conversation as a dynamic game and compare the ex post reward mechanism with the ex ante reward mechanism in forward versus discard and QoS routing. Our simulation results point out that the ex post reward mechanism is better than the ex ante reward mechanism in forward versus discard; however, the opposite holds true in QoS routing when the expected number of periods is sufficiently large. In addition, this study considers the reward mechanisms and the platform provider's benefit to find the optimal number of supernodes in a transmission path.Item type:Item, The Optimal Sampling Period of a Fingerprint Positioning Algorithm for Vehicle Speed Estimation(2013) ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Hsiang, Chia-Hung ;Lo, Chi-ChunLin, Hui-FeiUsing cellular floating vehicle data is a crucial technique for measuring and forecasting real-time traffic information based on anonymously sampling mobile phone positions for intelligent transportation systems (ITSs). However, a high sampling frequency generates a substantial load for ITS servers, and traffic information cannot be provided instantly when the sampling period is long. In this paper, two analytical models are proposed to analyze the optimal sampling period based on communication behaviors, traffic conditions, and two consecutive fingerprint positioning locations from the same call and estimate vehicle speed. The experimental results show that the optimal sampling period is 41.589 seconds when the average call holding time was 60 s, and the average speed error rate was only 2.87%. ITSs can provide accurate and real-time speed information under lighter loads and within the optimal sampling period. Therefore, the optimal sampling period of a fingerprint positioning algorithm is suitable for estimating speed information immediately for ITSs.Item type:Item, Ubiquitous Healthcare Service System with Context-awareness Capability: Design and Implementation(2011-04-01) ;Lo, Chi-Chun ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Kung, Hsu-Yang資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所The rises of the life index quality together with the medical technology improvement lead to a longer life expectancy. Thus a better health care program, especially for elderly, is needed. The common health problems facing those senior citizens are changed from acute diseases to chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, etc. Along with these changes, medical tourism is becoming the trend of the future. In this paper, we propose a decision support systems, the Ubiquitous Context-aware Healthcare Service System (UCHS), which uses micro sensors integrate RFID to sense user's life vital signal, such as electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG), heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR), blood pressure (BP), blood sugar (BS), and temperature and light. The UCHS is composted of Situation-Aware Medical Tourism Service Search Subsystem (SAMTS(3)), Healthy-life Map Guiding Subsystem (HMGS), Intelligent Curative Food Decision Support Subsystem (ICFDSS), and 4D Emergency Indication and Ambulance Dispatch Subsystem (4DEIADS) to provide relevant nature medicine recommendations to its user. The UCHS built upon an integrated service platform in which medical experts' knowledge and all position and negative influence of the proposed therapy are inferred by using semantic network.
