Item type:Item, A comparative study of foreign direct investment flow using diffusion models(2007) ;Li, Yiming ;Chiang, Yi-Hui ;Yu, Shao-Ming ;Chiang, Su-YunHung, C. -H.In this work, we apply an improvement dynamic model of the foreign direct investment (FDI) flow to analyze the evolution of FDI flow. In comparison with the fundamental growth model of FDI, the simulation result is further accurate if the asymmetric growth pattern and heterogeneity of the potential adopters are considered. According to the result, the internal influence dominates the growth of FDI flow from Taiwan to China during 2001-2006, taking the electronics industry for example.Item type:Item, A study of A/R collection for IC design industry in Taiwan using fuzzy MCDM methodology(2007) ;Hung, Chih-Young ;Li, Yiming ;Chiang, Yi-Hui ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyIn this paper, we present a fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making (FMCDM) approach to the evaluation of account receivable (A/R) collection instruments. By considering four collection alternatives, namely: the T/T advance (prepayment), the letter of credit (L/Q, the documentary collection (including D/A and D/P), and the open account (O/A), the FMCDNI approach is for the first time applied to choose the A/R collection instrument for Taiwanese integrated circuit (IQ design industry. Our results show, when face with new customer, the ranking of preference is the T/T advance, the L/C, the O/A and the documentary collection (D/A, D/P). International collection in modern unpredictable global market could be difficult unless firms have taken appropriate collection strategies. We believe that this study provides an alternative for making critical decisions, as in this case, the selection of A/R collection instruments.Item type:Item, A variable coefficient method for accurate Monte Carlo simulation of dynamic asset price(2007) ;Li, Yiming ;Hung, Chih-Young ;Yu, Shao-Ming ;Chiang, Su-YunChiang, Yi-HuiIn this work, we propose an adaptive Monte Carlo (MC) simulation technique to compute the sample paths for the dynamical asset price. In contrast to conventional MC simulation with constant drift and volatility (mu,sigma) , our MC simulation is performed with variable coefficient methods for(mu,sigma)in the solution scheme, where the explored dynamic asset pricing model starts from the formulation of geometric Brownian motion. With the method of simultaneously updated (mu,sigma) , more than 5,000 runs of MC simulation are performed to fulfills basic accuracy of the large-scale computation and suppresses statistical variance. Daily changes of stock market index in Taiwan and Japan are investigated and analyzed.Item type:Item, Evaluation of account receivable collection alternatives with fuzzy MCDM methodology(2006) ;Hung, Chih-Young ;Li, Yiming ;Chiang, Yi-Hui ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyIn this paper, we present a fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making (FMCDM) approach to evaluation of account receivable (AIR) collection instruments. By considering the prepayment, the letter of credit (L/C), the documentary collection (including D/A and D/P), and the open account (O/A), the FMCDM approach is for the first time applied to investigate the A/R collection for the microelectronics and optoelectronics industries in Taiwan. According to our results, difference of the ranking preference between the two industries is observed. The ranking in the microelectronics industry is the prepayment, the L/C, the O/A and the documentary collection (D/A,D/P). The preference in the optoelectronics industry is the prepayment, the O/A, the L/C, and the documentary collection (D/A,D/P), respectively. International collection in modern unpredictable global market could be difficult unless firms have taken appropriate collection strategies. We believe that our study provides an alternative for making critical decisions during selecting A/R collection instruments.Item type:Item, Using fuzzy MCDM approach on A/R collection instruments selection in Taiwan's Hsinchu Science Park(2005) ;Hung, Chih-Young ;Chiang, Yi-Hui ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyThis paper presents a Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making methodology (MCDM) model for selecting of A/R collection instruments. The Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method is used to determine the weightings for evaluation criteria among decision makers, including the managers of the six categories of companies in the Hsinchu Science Park (HSP). The subjectivity and vagueness in the alternatives selection process is dealt with by using fuzzy numbers for linguistic terms. Incorporated the decision makers' attitude towards preference, a crisp overall performance value is obtained for each alternatives based on the concept of FMCDM. This FAHP approach can provide managers with a suitable way to determine the optimum A/R collections instruments.
