Item type:Item, Compact Photonic Integrated Chip for Tunable Microwave Generation(2014-03-01) ;Chien, Chen-Yu ;Lo, Yen-Hua ;Wu, Yu-Chang ;Hsu, Shun-ChiehTseng, Hung-RueiA tunable microwave generation is demonstrated by monolithically integrated photonic chip, which combines a mirror section and two distributed feedback (DFB) lasers. The focus ion beam technology was employed to achieve high-quality air/semiconductor slab for the mirror. Two DFB lasers (named slave and master lasers, respectively) can operate in a single fundamental mode when they are individually pumped. A microwave signal with the differential frequency between the two lasers can be obtained through optical heterodyning. A tunable microwave signal up to 25.5 GHz can be generated by adjusting the injected currents of the two DFB lasers. A four-wave mixing spectrum was measured and the linewidth of the generated radio frequency signal is 1.9 MHz.Item type:Item, Evaluation of Tunable Microwave Signals Generated by Monolithic Two-section Distributed Feedback Lasers(2013-01-01) ;Lin, Chien-Chung ;Chien, Chen-Yu ;Wu, Yu-Chang ;Kuo, Hao-ChungLin, Chun-TingWe demonstrated a two-section 1.55 mu m laser with an air gap in the middle section. When two DFB lasers are powered together, an optical heterodying operation can produce microwave signals up to 44 GHz.Item type:Item, Self-Pulsation in Two-Section Laser with an air gap(2012) ;Lin, Chien-Chung ;Lin, Chih-Wei ;Chien, Chen-Yu ;Kuo, Hao-Chung光電系統研究所This study explores the optical field distribution of 1.55 mu m InGaAsP distributed feedback Laser with an air gap in the middle section. The optical field distribution was analyzed by different depth and width of an air gap. From the calculation, we could observe how the gap affect the coupling of the optical field into the other cavity. The percentage of the coupling is a crucial factor to the injection-locking operation. Both effective index model and commercial software were used to predict this coupling.Item type:Item, Solving the integration problem of one transistor one memristor architecture with a Bi-layer IGZO film through synchronous process(2018-04-23) ;Chang, Che-Chia ;Liu, Po-Tsun ;Chien, Chen-Yu ;Fan, Yang-Shun電子工程學系及電子研究所This study demonstrates the integration of a thin film transistor (TFT) and resistive random-access memory (RRAM) to form a one-transistor-one-resistor (1T1R) configuration. With the concept of the current conducting direction in RRAM and TFT, a triple-layer stack design of Pt/InGaZnO/Al2O3 is proposed for both the switching layer of RRAM and the channel layer of TFT. This proposal decreases the complexity of fabrication and the numbers of photomasks required. Also, the robust endurance and stable retention characteristics are exhibited by the 1T1R architecture for promising applications in memory-embedded flat panel displays. When two DFB lasers are powered together, an injection-locking operation can produce strong microwave signals up to 25.5 GHz.
