Item type:Item, A novel approach for designing fractal antennas(2007-01-01) ;Ni, David C. ;Chin, Chou Hsin ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsDesigning fractal antennas for broadband communications, various modifications and optimisations to the fractal patterns, such as Koch or Sierpinski, are adopted for better frequency responses. In this article, we explore a new approach by defining a set of complex functions, zq C-i, where C-i=exp(i*g(i)(z))[(z-v(i))/(1-(v) under bar ((i) under bar)z)], and then using the shapes of the solution domains of the functions directly as patterns of fractal antennas.Item type:Item, Sensor Network for Gas Meter Application(2009) ;Ni, David C. ;Chin, Chou Hsin ;物理研究所Institute of PhysicsThis paper presents a real world case of implementing a sensor network for fulfilling the requirements of gas meter application. We propose a hierarchical network, which includes the functionalities such as receiving, transmitting, routing, auto-reconfiguring, scheduling, and deep-sleeping under the stringent requirement of power consumption. We are currently conducting tests on this system and collecting problems for further improvements. This architecture is expected to meet the application requirements.Item type:Item, Symmetry Broken in Low Dimensional N-Body Chaos(2010-01-01) ;Ni, David C. ;Chin, Chou Hsin ;電機學院College of Electrical and Computer EngineeringIn this paper, we explore domains in conjunction with the defined parametric space of function f = h(z) Pi(t) {exp(g(t)(z))[(a(z) - z)/(1 - (a) over bar (t)z)]}, which represents a N-body system in complex form Interested observations on the computed results reveal limited levels of Herman ring fractals; symmetry broken; and transition to chaos based on phase parameter exp(g(t)(z)) and a(t)
