Item type:Item, Accuracy analysis of the estimated process treld based onS(pk)(2004-06-01) ;Pearn, WL ;Chuang, CC ;工業工程與管理學系Department of Industrial Engineering and ManagementProcess yield has been the most basic and common criterion used in the manufacturing industry as a base for measuring process performance. Boyles considered a measurement formula called S-pk, which establishes the relationship between the manufacturing specification and the actual process performance, providing an exact (rather than approximate) measure of process yield. Unfortunately, the sampling distribution and the associated statistical properties of Spk are analytically intractable. In this paper, we consider the natural estimator of the measure S-pk. We investigate the accuracy of the natural estimator of S-pk computationally, using a simulation technique to find the relative bias and the relative mean square error for some commonly used quality requirements. Extensive simulation results are provided and analyzed, which are useful to the engineers for factory applications in measuring process performance. Studies have claimed that many proposed MBAC algorithms would give the same performance if the parameters were properly tuned, In this paper, we study the effects of tuning two of the most important parameters in MBAC algorithms: Measurement Window and Utilization Target. We show that the measurement window is not a good tuning knob for enforcing rigid loss probability constraints. We propose a new parameter called Soft Utilization Target combined with a simple flow admittance policy called the Latch algorithm. The simulation results show that this scheme can achieve better enforcement of loss probability constraint while maintaining higher link utilization. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. The Ni-P alloy catalyst films with various thicknesses were produced using an electroless plating nickel technique. The nanosized clusters on the clustered surface of the Ni-P alloy catalyst film directly provided the nucleation sites for CNFs without any pretreatment before the growth of the CNFs. The CNFs grown on the Ni-P alloy catalyst showed random orientation and it composed of parallel graphite planes with defects tilted from their axis. Field emission measurement indicated that the Ni-P catalyzed-CNFs exhibited excellent field emission properties. The diameter, growth rate and field emission properties show a strong correlation with the thickness of the Ni-P alloy catalyst film. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. In the approach, by combining two different control design methodologies, the proposed controller is designed to compensate all rules so that the desired control performance can appear in the overall system. Our approach treats all fuzzy rules as variations of a nominal rule and such variations are individually dealt with in a Lyapunov sense. Previous approaches have proposed a similar idea but the variations are dealt with as a whole in a robust control sense. As a consequence, when fuzzy rules are distributed in a wide range, the stability conditions may not be satisfied. In addition, the control performance of the closed-loop system cannot be anticipated in those approaches. Various examples were conducted in our study to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control design approach. All results illustrate good control performances as desired.Item type:Item, Memory effect of sol-gel derived V-doped SrZrO3 thin films(2006-01-03) ;Liu, CY ;Chuang, CC ;Chen, JS ;Wang, AJang, WYV-doped SrZrO3 (SZO) thin films on LaNiO3/SiO2/Si substrate are synthesized by sol-gel method to form metal-insulator-metal (MIM) sandwich structure. The physical and electrical properties of the MIM device are studied. The structure and surface morphology of the SZO films are also characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Such a device has the bistable switching properties of current-voltage characteristics. The resistive switching between high state and low state can also be operated with voltage pulses. The device with the properties of long retention time and non-destructive readout is expected to be suitable for nonvolatile memory application. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. Our method, based on the hierarchical clustering scheme, is applicable to proteins with two or more disulfide bonds and is able to detect the structural similarities of proteins of low sequence identities (<25%). Our results show the surprisingly close relationship between disulfide-bonding patterns and proteins structures. Our findings should be useful in protein structure modeling. (C) 2003 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
