Item type:Item, A unified interface for integrating information retrieval(2001-09-01) ;Chang, YS ;Ho, MH ;Yuan, SM ;資訊工程學系Department of Computer ScienceIn this paper, we propose a unified interface and a flexible architecture for querying various information sources on the Internet and the WWW using both a popular object model and a data model. We propose an Integrated Information Retrieval MR) service based on the Common Object Service Specification (COSS) for Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) and apply the Document Type Definition (DTD) of eXtensible Mark-up Language XML) to define the metadata of information sources for sharing the ontology between mediator and wrappers, The objective of using the IIR design is not only to provide programmers with a uniform interface for coding a software application that can query a variety of information sources on the Internet, but also to create a flexible and extensible environment that easily allows system developers to add new or updated wrappers to the system. It is hard to efficiently retrieve useful information from biological data sources by traditional information retrieval technologies. In this paper, we propose a unified, adjustable, and extractable Biological Data Mining-Broker mechanism. Based on XML methodology, the mechanism provides a federated forum model to overcome the heterogeneities of both form and meaning from those different diverse biological data sources. Furthermore, the mechanism also utilizes the feedback-based direct raw and meaningful extracted cache technique to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the system. The experimental results show that our proposed system has good performance, and it is a good choice for biological data mining process with multiple heterogeneous data sources, different mining applications, and knowledge analysts. It is highly useful for target discovery and bioinformatics research projects.Item type:Item, A wrapper generator for integrated information retrieval.(2002) ;Ho, MH ;Chang, YS ;Sun, WC ;Yuan, SM資訊工程學系In the paper, we propose an XML-based framework for automatic wrapper generation.. Different, from the previous approaches, the wrapper generated within this framework is supported to the unified interface for the meta-search information retrieval system based on the Internet Search Service with CORBA standard. Taking advantages of the great compatibilities of CORBA and XML, the user can easily: develop his information gathering application for a. new search engine or any other information source from-the-Internet in a short period. The major contribution of this paper is, to, provide a CORBA and XML compliant solution of wrapper generator supported to unified interface for the information retriever. It is fast, easy and efficient to design a,, uniform-interface-ready wrapper for information retrieval application by the framework presented in,this paper.Item type:Item, Ab initio molecular orbital study of 1,3,5-triazine derivatives for phosphorescent organic light emitting devices(2005-10-24) ;Chu, TY ;Ho, MH ;Chen, JF ;Chen, CH電子物理學系Novel triplet host materials 2,4,6-tris(diarylamino)-1,3,5-triazine derivatives (TRZ1-TRZ4) have been reported and from which TRZ2 as a host for Ir(ppy)(3) was particularly useful in producing high efficiency phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). This Letter reports the molecular orbital and energy level of these derivatives determined by ab initio calculation. The calculated triplet bandgap energy of TRZ1 has been found to be larger than that of TRZ2 and the TRZ1 molecules and has the lowest dipole moment which infers the highest carrier mobility. Therefore, TRZ1 has the potential to be a superb triplet host material and electron transport material. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. New ligands, 3-(trifluoromethyl)-5-( pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazolate and 5( pyridin-2-yl)-tetrazolate, show stronger blue-shifting power than that of the picolate of Flrpic [ iridium (III) bis(4,6-difluorophenylpyridinato) picolate]. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) fabricated with a new complex, Flrtaz [ iridium ( III) bis( 4,6-difluorophenylpyridinato)( 5-(pyridine-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazolate) or FlrN4 [(iridium ( III) bis( 4,6-difluorophenylpyridinato)( 5-(pyridin-2-yl)-tetrazolate], as the blue dopant in the host of mCP [ 1,3- bis(9-carbazolyl) benzene], exhibit near-saturated blue electrophosphorescence with Commision Internale de l'Eclairage (CIEx,y) coordinates of (0.14, 0.18) and ( 0.15, 0.24), respectively.Item type:Item, EMARE: An Email-based Mobile Agent Runtime Environment for information retrieval on the Internet(2004) ;Ho, MH ;Chang, YS ;Yuan, SM ;資訊工程學系Department of Computer ScienceMost of current information retrieval systems are deployed on high-speed network and high-power environment. For those great increasingly popular mobile devices with low-speed network and low-power environment, to intensively retrieve the information on the Internet is difficult. In this paper, we propose a framework named EMARE (stand for E-mail based Mobile Agent Runtime Environment) to solve the difficulty EMARE provides users to retrieve desired information via mobile devices over the Internet. The mobile device can be a mobile phone, PDA, or handheld PC Take advantage of the compatibility of the e-mail protocol, EMARE can be uniformly accessed by those versatile devices. Furthermore, we, in the proposed framework, also utilize mobile agent technologies to enhance the ability of mobile devices. The experiments show that EMARE is an ideal mobile computing framework with cost-effective communications, unified user interface, and ease-of-deployment features.Item type:Item, New dopant and host materials for blue-light-emitting phosphorescent organic electroluminescent devices(2005-02-10) ;Yeh, SJ ;Wu, MF ;Chen, CT ;Song, YHChi, YEfficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) incorporating Ir-III bis(4,6-difluorophenylpyridinato)3-(trifluoromethyl)-5-(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazolate (FIrtaz) and Ir-III bis(4,6-difluorophenylpyridinato)-5- (pyridin-2-yl)-1H-tetrazolate (FIrN4) demonstrate higher-purity blue-light emission than the long-known Ir-III bis(4,6-difluorophenylpyridinato)-picolate (FIrpic) phosphorophore. New host materials with higher glass-transition temperatures were also found to enhance the OLED performance.Item type:Item, Phosphorescence of red Os(fptz)(2)(PPh2Me)(2) doped organic light-emitting devices with n and p hosts(2006-02-06) ;Liu, TH ;Hsu, SF ;Ho, MH ;Liao, CHWu, YSWe have applied a stericly-hindered red phosphorescent dopant Os(fptz)(2)(PPh2Me)(2) [fptz=3-trifluoromethyl-5-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole, PPh2Me=phosphine ligand] in p-type 4,4(')-N,N-'-dicarbazole-biphenyl or n-type bis(2-methyl-8-quinolinolato)(p-phenylphenolato) aluminum host and found that the latter produced higher luminance efficiency at lower doping concentration. We present a model to rationalize this phenomenon in which the n-type host impedes hole transport, which leads to narrower recombination zone near the hole transport layer/emission layer interface than the p-type host, hence, more effective recombination.Item type:Item, Supporting unified interface to wrapper generator in Integrated Information Retrieval(2002-09-01) ;Chang, YS ;Ho, MH ;Sun, WC ;Yuan, SM資訊工程學系Given the ever-increasing scale and diversity of information and applications on the Internet, improving the technology of information retrieval is an urgent research objective. Retrieved information is either semi-structured or unstructured in format and its sources are extremely heterogeneous. In consequence, the task of efficiently gathering and extracting information from documents can be both difficult and tedious. Given this variety of sources and formats, many choose to use mediator/wrapper architecture (Y. Papakonstantinou, A. Gupta, H. Garcia-Molina, J. Ullman, A Query Translation Scheme for Rapid Implementation of Wrappers, International Conference on Deductive and Object-Oriented Databases, Singapore, 1995), but its use demands a fast means of generating efficient wrappers. In this paper, we present a design for an automatic eXtensible Markup Language (XML)-based framework with which to generate wrappers rapidly. Wrappers created with this framework support a unified interface for a meta-search information retrieval system based on the Internet Search Service using the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) standard. Greatly advantaged by the compatibility of CORBA and XML, a user can quickly and easily develop information-gathering applications, such as a meta-search engine or any other information source retrieval method. The two main things our design provides are a method of wrapper generation that is fast, simple, and efficient, and a wrapper generator that is CORBA and XML-compliant and that supports a unified interface. Furthermore, biological data sources in all their variety have specific domains and objectives that differ from other user interface, query formats. result sets and database organizations. To meet the problems of unification in both their syntactic and semantic aspects, we here present a unified, adjustable, and extractable Biological Data Mining-Broker (BDMB). Based on XML technology, the broker provides a federated forum model that handles heterogeneity of sources. It also uses a feedback-based utility for raw and meaningful extracted cache techniques that makes the system more efficient and accurate. The experimental results show that the system performs well and is ideal for biological data mining processes with many different data sources, mining applications, and knowledge analysts. It is very useful for target discovery and bioinformatics research projects. (c) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
