Item type:Item, Derivation of the Glover-Doyle algorithms for general H-infinity control problems(1996-04-01) ;Hong, JL ;Teng, CC ;電控工程研究所Institute of Electrical and Control EngineeringWe show that the Glover-Doyle algorithm can be formulated simply by using the (J,J')-lossless factorization method and chain scattering matrix description. This algorithm was first stated by Glover and Doyle in 1988. Because the corresponding diagonal block of the (J,J')lossless matrix in the general 4-block H-infinity control problem of the Glover-Doyle algorithm is not square, a new type of chain scattering matrix description is developed. With this description in hand, we obtain two types of state-space solution, which are similar to each other. Thus a similarity transformation between these solutions in the 4-block H-infinity control problem can also be obtained. The main idea of the solution is illustrated by means of block diagrams.Item type:Item, H-infinity control for nonlinear affine systems: a chain-scattering matrix description approach(2001-04-15) ;Hong, JL ;Teng, CC ;電控工程研究所Institute of Electrical and Control EngineeringThis paper combines an alternative chain-scattering matrix description with (J, J')-lossless and a class of conjugate (- J, - J')-lossless systems to design a family of nonlinear H-infinity output feedback controllers. The present systems introduce a new chain-scattering setting, which not only offers a clearer expression for the solving process of the nonlinear H-infinity control problem but also removes the fictitious signals introduced by the traditional chain-scattering approach. The intricate nonlinear affine control problem thus can be transformed into a simple lossless network and is easy to deal with in a network-theory context. The relationship among these (J, J') systems, L-2-gain, and Hamilton-Jacobi equations is also given. Block diagrams are used to illustrate the central theme. This approach combines a (J, J')-lossless and a class of conjugate (J, J')-expansive systems to yield a family of nonlinear H infinity output feedback controllers. The singular nonlinear H infinity control problem is thus transformed into a simple lossless network problem that is easy to deal with in a network-theory context.
