Item type:Item, Predicting the travel intention to take High Speed Rail among college students(2010-07-01) ;Hsiao, Chun-Hua ;Yang, Chyan ;經營管理研究所Institute of Business and ManagementIn order to understand travelers' willingness to take Taiwan's High Speed Rail (HSR) and its antecedents, this study adds two constructs - novelty seeking and trust - to the model of theory of planned behavior (TPB). The study collected research data from a university in northern Taiwan, resulting in an effective data of 300 subjects. Results indicate that attitude, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norm are found to have positive effects on the behavioral intention of taking HSR. Furthermore, novelty seeking and trust also have positive influences on attitude and three antecedents of the intention in taking HSR respectively. Theoretical and marketing implications are derived. To examine the influential factors of the cheating intention among part-time students with several years of work experience, we included an additional variable-unethical beliefs related to the workplace (professional unethical beliefs) into the theory of planned behavior. First-year business students on the job were investigated from a university in northern Taiwan, resulting in a valid sample of 215 students. Our findings indicate that perceived behavioral control toward cheating and professional unethical beliefs have a greater impact on the intention to cheat. In addition, the subjective norm and attitudes also affect the students' cheating intention. Implications for managers and researchers are discussed, and suggestions for future research are offered.Item type:Item, The influence of professional ethical beliefs on academic dishonest with the theory of planned behavior(2009) ;Hsiao, Chun-Hua ;Yang, Chyan ;經營管理研究所Institute of Business and ManagementTo exam the influential factors of cheating intention, we adopted the theory of planned behavior (TPB) by adding professional unethical beliefs to enhance its predictive power. A self-administered survey of 280 business part-time students with full-time profession from a northern university in Taiwan was investigated. Results indicated that perceived behavioral control toward cheating and professional ethical beliefs have greater impact on cheating intention than subjective norm and attitude have.
