Item type:Item, AN ALIGNMENT SCHEME FOR LOW COST AND HIGH PRECISION SLOB FABRICATION USING AN ELECTROMAGNETIC MICROACTUATOR WITH 5 DOF(2019-01-01) ;Chen, Chih-Chung ;Fu, Yu-Min ;Hsu, Hsin-Feng ;Cheng, Yu-Ting電子工程學系及電子研究所This paper presents an alignment scheme for SiOB fabrication using an electromagnetic force-driven microactuator with five degrees of freedom (5 DOF) of movement. The actuator comprising four sets of corrugated springs and spiral coils driven by Lorentz and reluctant force respectively can accomplish linearly horizontal and vertical displacement and tilt angle ranging within 2 and 10.5Am, and 0.1 degrees for positioning optical lens with a resolution of 0.mu m, which has been experimentally validated to facilitate h scheme feasibly.Item type:Item, Biochemical Sensors Based on Dual Antiresonant Reflecting Optical Waveguides(2013) ;Lee, Cheng-Han ;Hsu, Hsin-Feng ;Lu, Ming-Feng ;Huang, Yang-Tung電子工程學系及電子研究所Design, fabrication, and characterization of biochemical sensors based on dual ARROW structures are studied. A succession of NaCl solutions with different concentration can be investigated in real time. The sensitivity of this sensor is 1305 mu m/RIU.Item type:Item, In Situ Regeneration of Si-based ARROW-B Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensors(2015-06-01) ;Hsu, Hsin-Feng ;Lin, Yen-Ting ;Huang, Yang-Tung ;Lu, Ming-FengChen, Chyong-HuaSi-based antiresonant reflecting optical waveguide type B (ARROW-B) surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors allow label-free high-sensitivity detection of biomolecular interactions in real time. The ARROW-B waveguide, which has a thick guiding layer, provides efficient coupling with a single-mode fiber. The Si-based ARROW-B SPR biosensors were fabricated by using the standard semiconductor fabrication processes with a single-step lithography. A fluid flow system was designed to transport samples or analytes. The waveguide consists of propagation and SPR sensing regions. The propagation regions in the front and rear of the SPR sensing region have a symmetric cladding structure to isolate them from environmental changes. A high-index O-ring is used to seal the liquid flow channel. The intensity interrogation method was used to characterize the sensors. The sensitivity of the biosensors was 3.0 x 10(3) A mu W/RIU (refractive index unit) with a resolution of 6.2 x 10(-5) RIU. An in situ regeneration process was designed to make the sensors reusable and eliminate re-alignment of the optical measurement system. The regeneration was realized using ammonia-hydrogen peroxide mixture solutions to remove molecules bound on the sensor surface, such as self-assembled 11-mercapto-1undecanoic acid and bovine serum albumin. SPR was used to monitor the regeneration processes. The experimental results show that the sensing response did not significantly change after the sensor was reused more than 10 times. In situ regenerations of the sensors were achieved.Item type:Item, Non-interferometric phase retrieval using refractive index manipulation(2017-04-07) ;Chen, Chyong-Hua ;Hsu, Hsin-Feng ;Chen, Hou-Ren ;Hsieh, Wen-Feng光電工程學系We present a novel, inexpensive and non-interferometric technique to retrieve phase images by using a liquid crystal phase shifter without including any physically moving parts. First, we derive a new equation of the intensity-phase relation with respect to the change of refractive index, which is similar to the transport of the intensity equation. The equation indicates that this technique is unneeded to consider the variation of magnifications between optical images. For proof of the concept, we use a liquid crystal mixture MLC 2144 to manufacture a phase shifter and to capture the optical images in a rapid succession by electrically tuning the applied voltage of the phase shifter. Experimental results demonstrate that this technique is capable of reconstructing high-resolution phase images and to realize the thickness profile of a microlens array quantitatively.Item type:Item, Real-time Detection of alpha-Thrombin Binding to Single-Strand DNA Aptamers by a Highly Sensitive Si-Based Waveguide SPR Biosensor(2012) ;Huang, Chi-Chieh ;Hsu, Hsin-Feng ;Chen, Sz-Hau ;Tsai, Kun-YuHuang, Yang-TungIn this paper, real-time characterization of alpha-thrombin binding to single-strand DNA (ssDNA) aptamers by novel Si-based waveguide SPR biosensors has been investigated. The gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) modified with anti-thrombin antibodies were employed to bind with alpha-thrombin via strong antibody/antigen affinity for SPR signal amplification. The detection limit of 1 pM for alpha-thrombin detection was achieved.Item type:Item, Real-Time Detection of Protein Kinase A Activity by A Si-Based ARROW-B SPR Biosensor(2013) ;Hsu, Hsin-Feng ;Lin, Zheng-Wen ;Huang, Yang-Tung ;Yuan, Chiun-Jye電子工程學系及電子研究所The ARROW-B SPR biosensor was proposed to provide label-free and high sensitivity characteristics to detect biomolecular interaction. In this work, Si-based ARROW-B SPR biosensors were designed and fabricated to detect protein kinase A activity.Item type:Item, Silicon-based dual ARROW power splitters with remote coupling(2015-03-10) ;Hsu, Hsin-Feng ;Hsu, Ming-Shun ;Lu, Ming-Feng ;Huang, Yang-Tung生物科技學系In this research, Si-based power splitters based on dual antiresonant reflecting optical waveguides (ARROW) with remote coupling by a separation distance of 30 mu m were designed and realized. Characterization of the power splitters with different lengths of the coupling region was performed. Measurement characteristics of fabricated devices with the propagation losses lower than 1.90 dB/cm and the imbalances lower than 0.60 dB show that our dual ARROW power splitters can be efficiently realized.
