Item type:Item, GRAAD: Group Anonymous and Accountable D2D Communication in Mobile Networks(2018-02-01) ;Hsu, Ruei-Hau ;Lee, Jemin ;Quek, Tony Q. S. ;Chen, Jyh-Cheng資訊工程學系Device-to-device (D2D) communication is mainly launched by the transmission requirements between devices for specific applications such as proximity services in long-term evolution advanced networks, and each application will form a group of registered devices for the network-covered and network-absent D2D communications. During the applications of D2D communication, each device needs to identify the other devices of the same group in proximity by their group identity. This leads to the exposure of group information, by which the usage of applications can be analyzed by eavesdroppers. Hence, this paper introduces network-covered and network-absent authenticated key exchange protocols for D2D communications to guarantee accountable group anonymity, end-to-end security to network operators, as well as traceability and revocability for accounting and management requirements. We formally prove the security of those protocols, and also develop an analytic model to evaluate the quality of authentication protocols by authentication success rate in D2D communications. Besides, we implement the proposed protocols on android mobile devices to evaluate the computation costs of the protocols. We also evaluate the authentication success rate by the proposed analytic model and prove the correctness of the analytic model via simulation. Those evaluations show that the proposed protocols are feasible to the performance requirements of D2D communications.Item type:Item, Interdomain Identity-Based Key Agreement Schemes(2014-01-01) ;Fan, Chun-I ;Lin, Yi-Hui ;Hsu, Tuan-Hung ;Hsu, Ruei-Hau交大工研院聯合研發中心In order to simplify key management, two-party and three-party key agreement schemes based on user identities have been proposed recently. Multiparty (including more than three parties) key agreement protocols, which also are called conference key schemes, can be applied to distributed systems and wireless environments, such as ad hoc networks, for the purpose of multiparty secure communication. However, it is hard to extend two- or three-party schemes to multiparty ones with the guarantee of efficiency and security. In addition to the above two properties, interdomain environments should also be considered in key agreement systems due to diversified network domains. However, only few identity-based multiparty conference key agreement schemes for single domain environments and none for interdomain environments were proposed in the literature and they did not satisfy all of the security attributes such as forward secrecy and withstanding impersonation. In this paper, we will propose a novel efficient single domain identity-based multiparty conference key scheme and extend it to an interdomain one. Finally, we prove that the proposed schemes satisfy the required security attributes via formal methods.Item type:Item, Reconfigurable Security: Edge-Computing-Based Framework for IoT(2018-09-01) ;Hsu, Ruei-Hau ;Lee, Jemin ;Quek, Tony Q. S. ;Chen, Jyh-Cheng交大名義發表In various scenarios, achieving security between IoT devices is challenging since the devices may have different dedicated communication standards and resource constraints as well as various applications. In this article, we first provide requirements and existing solutions for IoT security. We then introduce a new reconfigurable security framework based on edge computing, which utilizes a near-user edge device, that is, a security agent, to support security functions as IoT resources for the security requirements of all protocol layers including multiple applications on an IoT device. This framework is designed to overcome the challenges including high computation costs, low flexibility in key management, and low compatibility in deploying new security algorithms in IoT, especially when adopting advanced cryptographic primitives. We also provide the design principles of the reconfigurable security framework, the exemplary security protocols for anonymous authentication and secure data access control, and the performance analysis in terms of feasibility and usability. The reconfigurable security framework paves a new way to strengthen IoT security by edge computing.Item type:Item, Strongly Secure Certificate less Signature: Cryptanalysis and Improvement of Two Schemes(2015-01-01) ;Chen, Yu-Chi ;Tso, Raylin ;Horng, Gowboa ;Fan, Chun-IHsu, Ruei-HauCertificateless cryptography is a well-known system to avoid the key escrow problem of identity-based cryptography. Since it was introduced by Al-Riyami and Paterson in 2003, plenty of schemes and security models had been presented and discussed. Particularly, certificateless signature (CLS) is the most lightened to attract research attention. In the literature works, Hu et al. introduced generic construction and security model that can satisfy non-repudiation. On the other hand, Huang et al. simulated possible attacks and defined more complete security models of CLS for existential unforgeability, and they sorted adversaries into normal, strong, and super adversaries (ordered by their attack powers). In this paper, we consider the security of CLS schemes regarding both of existential unforgeability and non-repudiation. We not only show the weaknesses of two CLS schemes of Fan et al. [5] and Xiong et al. [13], but also point out the loopholes of their security proofs. Hence, we improve the weaknesses and loopholes by proposing a new certificateless short signature with low bandwidth. The proposed scheme is provably secure against the super adversaries and reaches the highest security level.
