Item type:Item, A moderated fuzzy matchmaking for web services(2005) ;Huang, CL ;Chao, KM ;Lo, CC ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceA number of matchmaking methods have been proposed and used for various applications. However, the issues associated with matchmaking for web services that involve data repository are not well addressed by the existing methods which focus on service capabilities, interface signatures, and so on. This results from that the information and data in repository are not considered for matchmaking. In our previous work, we proposed a juzzy matchmaking framework which exploits fuzzy logic to abstract and classify the underlying data of web services as juzzy terms and rules. As a result, it increases the efficiency of the discovery of web services and allows imprecise or vague terms incorporated in the search. However, the assumption of unified (consensus) value between service providers and consumers for the service is made. In this paper, a fuzzy moderator is introduced in order to provide a tracking mechanism for consumers' feedbacks and moderate their values.Item type:Item, BMP test on chemically pretreated sludge(1999-05-01) ;Lin, JG ;Ma, YS ;Chao, AC ;Huang, CL環境工程研究所Municipal waste activated sludge (WAS) was treated with NaOH to solubilize the particulate organic matter in order to improve its digestibility when the sludge was stabilized in an anaerobic digestion process. For the WAS of 1% TS treated with 20 and 40 meq/l NaOH at ambient temperature for 24 h, the SCOD/TCOD values increased from 3.5 to 39 and 55%, respectively. Results of the BMP (biochemical methane potential) test showed that recoveries of carbon and nitrogen reached 94-105% and the methane produced was 349 ml (at 1 atm and 35 degrees C) for 1 g of COD removed. The improvement in VS removal for sludge treated with 40 meq/l of NaOH was as high as 41% over the control sludge sample, with COD removal and gas production improved by 30 and 34%, respectively, over the control. Results of the cumulative COD removal appeared to follow first-order reaction kinetics. Parameters of the first-order model such as ultimate biodegradable COD (L-u), reaction rate coefficient (k) and ultimate biodegradability (mu), were calculated using the Thomas method. The BMP test can be used as a valuable tool to study the kinetics and efficiency of anaerobic digestion processes. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. It contains a conserved kinase domain at its NH2 terminus, whereas there is a regulatory domain at its COOH terminus. In this study we demonstrate that endogenous Mst3 is specifically cleaved when Jurkat cells were treated with anti-Fas antibody or staurosporine and that this cleavage is inhibited by the caspase inhibitor, Ac-DEVD-CHO. Using apoptotic Jurkat cell extracts and recombinant caspases, we mapped the caspase cleavage site, AETD(313), which is at the junction of the NH2-terminal kinase domain and the COOH-terminal regulatory domain. Caspase-mediated cleavage of. Mst3 activates its intrinsic kinase activity, suggesting that the COOH-terminal domain of Mst3 negatively regulates the kinase domain. Furthermore, proteolytic removal of the Mst3 COOH-terminal domain by caspases promotes nuclear translocation. Ectopic expression of either wild-type or COOH-terminal truncated Mst3 in cells results in DNA fragmentation and morphological changes characteristic of apoptosis. By contrast, no such changes were exhibited for catalytically inactive Mst3, implicating the involvement of Mst3 kinase activity for mediation of these effects. Collectively, these results support the notion that caspase-mediated proteolytic activation of Mst3 contributes to apoptosis.Item type:Item, Comparative analysis of specific heat of YNi2B2C using nodal and two-gap models(2006-01-01) ;Huang, CL ;Lin, JY ;Sun, CP ;Lee, TKKim, JDThe magnetic field dependence of low temperature specific heat in YNi2B2C was measured and analyzed using various pairing order parameters. At a zero magnetic field, the two-gap model, which has been successfully applied to MgB2 and the point-node model, appear to describe the superconducting gap function of YNi2B2C better than other models based on the isotropic s-wave, the d-wave line nodes, or the s+g wave. The two energy gaps, Delta(L)=2.67 meV and Delta(S)=1.19 meV, are obtained. The observed nonlinear field dependence of the electronic specific heat coefficient, gamma(H)similar to H-0.47, is quantitatively close to the gamma(H)similar to H-0.5 expected for nodal superconductivity or that can be qualitatively explained using a two-gap scenario. Furthermore, the positive curvature in H-c2(T) near T-c is qualitatively similar to that in the other two-gap superconductor MgB2.Item type:Item, Evidence of nodal superconductivity in Na0.35CoO2 center dot 1.3 H2O: A specific-heat study(2005-01-01) ;Yang, HD ;Lin, JY ;Sun, CP ;Kang, YCHuang, CLComprehensive low-temperature specific-heat data C(T,H) of Na0.35CoO2.1.3 H2O with temperature T down to 0.6 K and the magnetic field H up to 8 T are presented. In the normal state, the values of gamma(n)=13.94 mJ/mol K-2 and Debye temperature Theta(D)=362 K are reported. At zero field, a very sharp superconducting anomaly was observed at T-c=4.5 K with DeltaC/gamma(ns)T(c)=1.45 if the specific-heat jump is normalized to the superconducting volume fraction, which is estimated to be 47.4% based on the consideration of entropy balance at T-c for the second-order superconducting phase transition. In the superconducting state, the electronic contribution C-es at H=0 can be well described by the model of the line nodal order parameter. In low H, deltagamma(H)proportional toH(1/2), which is also a manifestation of the line nodes. The behaviors of both T-c(H) and gamma(H) suggest the anisotropy of H-c2, or possible crossovers or transitions occurring in the mixed state.Item type:Item, Inter- and intra-subband relaxation of hot electrons in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells(2003-05-01) ;Sun, KW ;Huang, CL ;Huang, GB ;Lee, HC電子工程學系及電子研究所In this work, we have studied the inter- and intra-subband scattering of hot electrons in quantum wells using the hot electron-neutral acceptor luminescence technique. We have observed direct evidence of the emission of confined optical phonons by hot electrons excited slightly above the n = 2 subband in GaAs/Al0.37Ga0.63As quantum wells. Scattering rates of photoexcited electrons via inter- and intra-subband LO phonon emission were calculated based on the dielectric continuum model. We found that, for wide wells with the Al composition of our experiments, both the calculated and experimental results suggest that the scattering of the electrons is dominated by the confined LO phonon mode. In the calculations, scatterings among higher subbands are also dominated by the same type of phonon at well width of 10 nm. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. However, significant defect clustering occurs when the wafer is large, so the conventional defect control chart, based on the Poisson distribution, is inappropriate. Defect clustering must also be analyzed to monitor effectively defects in ICI fabrication process control. This study developed a novel procedure using the multivariate Hotelling T-2 control chart, based on the number of defects and the defect clustering index (CI) to monitor simultaneously the number of defects and the defect clusters. The CI does, not require any statistical assumptions concerning the distribution of defects and can accurately evaluate the clustering phenomena. A case study of a Taiwanese IC manufacturer demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed procedure.Item type:Item, Photodissociation of nitrosobenzene and decomposition of phenyl radical(2004-09-30) ;Tseng, CM ;Choi, YM ;Huang, CL ;Ni, CKLee, YTPhotodissociation of nitrosobenzene in a molecular beam has been studied by multimass ion imaging techniques. Photodissociation at 248 nm shows that there is only one dissociation channel, i.e., C6H5NO --> C6H5 + NO, regardless of the fact that the other channel, C6H5NO --> C6H4 + HNO, is energetically accessible in agreement with theoretically predicted results. Photodissociation at 193 nm also shows the same dissociation channel. However, about 10% of the C6H5 radicals produced at this wavelength further decomposed into benzyne and H atom, and the dissociation rates of phenyl radical as a function of internal energies were measured. The averaged photofragment translational energies released from the dissociation of nitrosobenzene at 193 and 248 nm are 10.2 and 6.9 kcal/mol, respectively, and fragment distributions are almost isotropic at both wavelengths. In addition, the thermal rate constant for dissociation of C6H5NO has been computed and compared with experimental data; the agreement between theory and experiment is excellent, confirming the most recently reported unusually high A-factor (> 10(17) s(-1)).Item type:Item, Reaching consensus: A moderated fuzzy web services discovery method(2006-06-01) ;Huang, CL ;Lo, CC ;Chao, KM ;Younas, M資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Web services are used for developing and integrating highly distributed and heterogeneous systems in different domains such as e-business, grid services, and e-government systems. Web services discovery is a key to dynamically locating desired web services across the Internet. Prevailing research trend is to dynamically discover and compose web services in order to develop composite services that provide enhanced functionality. Existing discovery techniques do not take into account the diverse preferences and expectations of service consumers and providers which are generally used for searching or advertising web services. This paper presents a moderated fuzzy web service discovery approach to model subjective and fuzzy opinions, and to assist service consumers and providers in reaching a consensus. The method achieves a common consensus on the distinct opinions and expectations of service consumers and providers. This process is iterative such that further fuzzy opinions and preferences can be added to improve the precision of web service discovery. The proposed method is implemented as a prototype system and is tested through various experiments. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. (C) 2006 Elsevier B.V. These measurements are influenced by various factors, including machine breakdown, operator absence, poor dispatching rules, emergency order and material shortage. Generally, production managers use the WIP level profile of each stage to identify an abnormal situation, and then make corrective actions. However, such a measurement is reactive, not proactive. Proactive actions must effectively predict the future performance, analyze the abnormal situation, and then generate corrective actions to prevent performance from degrading. This work systematically constructs artificial neural network models to predict production performances for a semiconductor manufacturing factory. An application for a local DRAM wafer fabrication has demonstrated the accuracy of neural network models in predicting production performances.Item type:Item, Various analyses of specific heat for the order parameter of superconductor Na(0.35)coO(2) center dot 1.3H(2)O(2006-05-01) ;Sun, CP ;Lin, JY ;Kang, YC ;Huang, CLTakada, KLow-temperature specific-heat data C(T) of two Na0.35CoO2. 1.3H(2)O samples (I and II) with temperature T down to 0.6 K without and with magnetic field of 8T are presented. The normal-state linear coefficient of specific heat gamma(n) Debye temperature Theta D, superconducting transition temperature T-c, specific heat jump at T-c, Delta C/T-gamma ns(c). and superconducting volume of fraction (SVF) are 14.89 mJ/mol K-2, 503, 4.7 K, 1.96, and 26.6% for sample I and 13.94 mJ/mol K-2, 362, 4.5 K, 1.45. and 47.4% for sample II, respectively. Because the superconducting properties may depend on the water content of sample, it is found that the better quality (higher SVF) of sample, the nodal order parameter is better than BCS isotropic s-wave model in describing the gap function of this interesting compound Na0.35CoO2. 1.3H(2)O.
