Item type:Item, Dual-band Circularly Polarized Slotted Monopole Antenna(2011) ;Huang, Chien-Rung ;Huang, Jie-Huang ;Jou, Christina F. ;電信工程研究所Institute of Communications EngineeringThis paper presents a dual-band circularly polarized slotted monopole antenna. This antenna is fed by a 50 Omega microstrip line. The measured results demonstrate that the slotted monopole antenna has a return loss < 10dB, an axial ratio (AR) < 3dB, and 6 % circular polarization bandwidth with respect to the center frequency at 2.4 GHz, and 1.7 % circular polarization bandwidth with respect to the center frequency at 5.25 GHz. This antenna can excite a left-hand circular polarization (LHCP) at 2.4 GHz, and right-hand circular polarization at 5.25 GHz. At the center frequency of 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz, the measured impedance bandwidth are about 190 MHz and 180 MHz respectively.Item type:Item, Novel Short Tapered Leaky Wave Antennas with Complementary Split Ring Resonator for Back Lobe Suppression(2014-01-01) ;Huang, Jie-Huang ;Huang, Chien-Rung ;Jou, Christina F. ;傳播研究所Institute of Communication StudiesTwo novel short tapered leaky wave antenna (LWA) designs with a complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) structure are proposed in this paper. The CSRR structure is positioned at 1/4 lambda(g) away from the open-end edge of the LWA. For one of the antenna designs, the CSRR is placed at the ground plane; for the other one, the CSRR is placed on the antenna plane. The reflected wave caused by the open-end edge of the LWA is cancelled by the reflected wave caused by the CSRR, thus, the back lobe can be effectively suppressed. The length of these two short tapered LWAs with CSRR design is only 1.2 lambda(g) at 4.3 GHz. According to the measurement results, the impedance bandwidth is 650 MHz for 7 dB return loss, which covers the range from 4.3 GHz to 4.95 GHz. The back lobe can be suppressed effectively about more than 12 dB at the whole operating frequency band. The scanning range of the main beam is about 34 degrees, which cover the scanning angle from 10 degrees to 44 degrees.
