Item type:Item, An Efficient Tree Search Algorithm for the Free Distance of Variable-Length Error-Correcting Codes(2018-03-01) ;Huang, Chun ;Wu, Ting-Yi ;Chen, Po-Ning ;Alajaji, FadyHan, Yunghsiang S.We propose an efficient tree search algorithm for determining the free distance of variable-length error-correcting codes (VLECs). A main idea behind the algorithm is to structure all pairs of code word-concatenated sequences as a tree, in which we seek the pair of sequences that determine the free distance. In order to speed up the algorithm, we establish constraints that do not compromise optimality in determining the free distance. Experimental results on VLECs algorithmically constructed for the English alphabet show that our algorithm requires a considerably smaller number of bitwise distance computations and covers a much smaller number of tree nodes than Dijkstra's algorithm operating over the pairwise distance graph while being a hundred times faster in terms of execution time.Item type:Item, DEREVERBERATION BASED ON BIN-WISE TEMPORAL VARIATIONS OF COMPLEX SPECTROGRAM(2017-01-01) ;Chen, Tzu-Hao ;Huang, Chun ;Chi, Tai-Shih ;電機工程學系Department of Electrical and Computer EngineeringHumans analyze sounds not only based on their frequency contents, but also on the temporal variations of the frequency contents. Inspired by auditory perception, we propose a deep neural network (DNN) based dereverberation algorithm in the rate domain, which presents the temporal variations of frequency contents, in this paper. We show convolutional noise in the time domain can be approximated to multiplicative noise in the rate domain. To remove the multiplicative noise, we adopt the rate-domain complex-valued ideal ratio mask (RDcIRM) as the training target of the DNN. Simulation results show that the proposed rate-domain DNN algorithm is more capable of recovering high-intelligible and high-quality speech from reverberant speech than the compared state-ofthe- art dereverberation algorithm. Hence, it is highly suitable for speech applications involving human listeners.Item type:Item, ESD protection design for giga-Hz high-speed I/O interfaces in a 130-nm CMOS process(2007) ;Hsiao, Yuan-Wen ;Ker, Ming-Dou ;Chiu, Po-Yen ;Huang, ChunTseng, Yuh-KuangThe electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection design for high-speed input/output (I/O) interfaces in a 130-nm CMOS process is proposed in this paper. First, the ESD protection devices were designed and fabricated to evaluate their ESD robustness and the parasitic effects in giga-hertz: frequency band. VVith the knowledge on the dependence of device dimensions on ESD robustness and the parasitic capacitance, the ESD protection circuit for high-speed I/O interfaces was designed with minimum degradation on high-speed circuit performance but satisfactory high ESD robustness.
