Item type:Item, A tight BER upper bound for bit-interleaved coded modulation with square QAM and gray labeling(2006-11-01) ;Huang, Liang-Wei ;Sheen, Wern-Ho ;Yiu, Tsang-Wei ;交大名義發表電信工程研究所Bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) is a bandwidth-efficient coded system with diversity order higher than that of Ungerboeck's trellis-coded modulation on fading channels. In this paper, we investigate the BER (bit error rate) performance of BICM in the additive white Gaussian and Rayleigh fading channels. A new upper bound is given for the square QAM constellation with gray labeling, which constitutes a large portion of practical applications of BICM systems. The new upper bound is tighter than the well-known BICM union bound proposed in [4].Item type:Item, Epigenetic Regulation of WNT3A Enhancer during Regeneration of Injured Cortical Neurons(2020-03-01) ;Chang, Chu-Yuan ;Hung, Jui-Hung ;Huang, Liang-Wei ;Li, JoyeFung, Ka ShingTraumatic brain injury is known to reprogram the epigenome. Chromatin immunoprecipitation-sequencing of histone H3 lysine 27 acetylation (H3K27ac) and tri-methylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4me3) marks was performed to address the transcriptional regulation of candidate regeneration-associated genes. In this study, we identify a novel enhancer region for induced WNT3A transcription during regeneration of injured cortical neurons. We further demonstrated an increased mono-methylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4me1) modification at this enhancer concomitant with a topological interaction between sub-regions of this enhancer and with promoter of WNT3A gene. Together, this study reports a novel mechanism for WNT3A gene transcription and reveals a potential therapeutic intervention for neuronal regeneration.
