Item type:Item, Design and Integration of Fiber Fronthaul with Soft PHY for OAI-BASED RAN(2018-01-01) ;Huang, Wei-Hsin ;Hsu, Terng-Yin ;資訊工程學系Department of Computer ScienceFor high-speed communications need, Fronthaul, a new mobile architecture related to RAN-based networks, has been widely used in 4G/5G mobile network. Compared with the traditional architecture of the baseband station, Fronthaul is divided into baseband unit (BBU) and remote radio head (RRH). Due to the separation, the interface between BBU and RRH requires more effort to handle the data rate transmission. In this paper, we propose the fiber Fronthaul to achieve the high bandwidth requirement. The BBU includes the SoftPHY OAI running on Intel 17-6700 CPU and the data collector implemented by Xilinx VC707. The RRH is implemented by Xilinx ZC706. And the RF front-end is implemented by Analog Devices AD-FMCOMMSS-EBZ. The interface between the SoftPHY OAI and the data collector is PCIe, and the interface between the data collector and the RRH is optical fiber. It is important that we design the synchronization scheme to synchronize and calibrate the real-time clock (RTC) of different RRH. Therefore, the proposed fiber Fronthaul with SoftPHY OAI can achieve the long distance, stability and high speed transmission.Item type:Item, Electroencephalogram Signal Detection with Smart Phone Applications(2015) ;Huang, Wei-Hsin ;Yang, Chia-Hao ;Hsu, Terng-Ren ;Fan, Ching-Chih資訊工程學系Our purpose is to construct a low-cost EEG measurement system that can detect high accuracy brain wave. Our proposal includes following characteristics: low cost, compact size, portability, and easy to use. The proposed device employs the embedded microcontroller to be in charge of whole system. EEG analog front-end circuits of our proposition are based on operational amplifiers that are applied to construct instrumentation amplifiers, high-pass filters, low-pass filters, middle-amplifiers, post-amplifiers and DC offset circuits. For PC-based applications, we program a brief MATLAB procedure to receive, display, and analyze EEG data. For smartphone applications, a Bluetooth wireless module is applied for data communication. We develop a simple demo application to display real-time EEG waveform on Android platform.Item type:Item, Wearable Electroencephalogram Signal Detection with Dry Metal Electrodes(2017-01-01) ;Hsu, Terng-Ren ;Hsu, Terng-Yin ;Huang, Wei-Hsin ;Fan, Ching-Chih資訊工程學系The major of this paper is a wearable Electroencephalogram (EEG) signal detection with dry metal electrodes. It includes following characteristics: low cost, compact size, wearable object, and comfortable sensation. The proposed device employs the embedded microcontroller to be in charge of whole system. The EEG analog front-end circuit of our proposition is based on CMOS operational amplifiers (OPA) that are applied to construct an instrumentation amplifier (IA), high-pass filters (HPF), low-pass filters (LPF), a middle-amplifier, a post-amplifier and biases. A Bluetooth wireless communication module is applied for data communications. We develop a simple demo application software to display real-time EEG waveform or real-time EEG features on Android platforms.Item type:Item, Wearable Multi-lead ECG Recorder with Dry Metal Electrodes(2016) ;Hsu, Terng-Ren ;Hsu, Terng-Yin ;Yang, Shang-Yi ;Huang, Wei-HsinOu, Zong-ChengIn this draft, our purpose is to construct a wearable multi-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) recorder with dry metal electrodes. In general, such as arrhythmia, myocardial ischemia or other heart-related symptoms, using one lead ECG measurements is difficult to accurately diagnose, three-lead ECG should be measured at least. In order to offer sufficient identification information, our scheme is a three-lead ECG solution with recording mode and real-time display mode. Besides, our proposition using dry metal electrodes provide a comfortable sensation, less skin-irritating, easy clean surfaces, reusable capability, and more durability. Due to these advantages, dry metal electrodes are suitable to integrate with underwear. The whole system includes an embedded microcontroller, a memory card interface, analog front-end circuits, user interface devices, power regulators, and so on. All elements integrate within a 5.8cm x 6.8cm four-layer printed circuit board (PCB) to meet the wearable request.
