Item type:Item, A Wearable Bio-potential Monitor System with Capacitive Coupling Electrode(2013-01-01) ;Huang, Yan-Jun ;Lin, Bor-Shyh ;Wang, Hsing-Yu ;Kuo, Hsing-ChienLin, Bin-YiElectrocardiography (ECG) is a kind of electrical activities of the heart measured along the skin, and is also an important tool to diagnosis heart decease. In clinical, the conventional ECG electrode is generally used for measuring ECG signal. However, it requires skin preparation and conductive gels to reduce the impedance of the skin-electrode interface. These preparation procedures easily cause the inconvenience and discomfort for the user. Moreover, it also easily encounters the problem of conductive gels drying for long-term ECG measurement. In this study, a capacitive coupling electrode was proposed to measure ECG without contacting the patient body of the user directly. By using the proposed capacitive coupling electrode, ECG can be measured without any preparation and conductive gels. Finally, the electrical characteristic was validated, and ECG measurement was also tested in this study.Item type:Item, Near-infrared Spectroscopy System for Determining Brain Hemoglobin Level(2013) ;Wu, Pei-Jung ;Chang, Ming-Hsien ;Huang, Cheng-Yang ;Wang, Yu-ChengKuo, Jinn-RungTraumatic brain injury (TBI) usually results from brain shaking or impact. It can affect the normal function of the brain and even cause people become disabled and death. However, there is lack of studies for the physiological changes of humans or animals under brain injury. In order to obtain the information of physiological state change, we designed and enforced a non-invasive, wireless multi-channel near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) for monitoring the concentration change of oxy-hemoglobin (HbO(2)), deoxy-hemoglobin (HbR) and total-hemoglobin (HbT) continuously during and after TBI. The experimental results indicated that the concentration change of HbO(2) and HbT is significantly related to the impact strength and infarction volume. Thus, this system is easily used and stable for TBI study.Item type:Item, Novel Active Comb-Shaped Dry Electrode for EEG Measurement in Hairy Site(2015-01-01) ;Huang, Yan-Jun ;Wu, Chung-Yu ;Wong, Alice May-Kuen ;Lin, Bor-Shyh影像與生醫光電研究所Electroencephalography (EEG) is an important biopotential, and has been widely applied in clinical applications. The conventional EEG electrode with conductive gels is usually used for measuring EEG. However, the use of conductive gel also encounters with the issue of drying and hardening. Recently, many dry EEG electrodes based on different conductive materials and techniques were proposed to solve the previous issue. However, measuring EEG in the hairy site is still a difficult challenge. In this study, a novel active comb-shaped dry electrode was proposed to measure EEG in hairy site. Different form other comb-shaped or spike-shaped dry electrodes, it can provide more excellent performance of avoiding the signal attenuation, phase distortion, and the reduction of common mode rejection ratio. Even under walking motion, it can effectively acquire EEG in hairy site. Finally, the experiments for alpha rhythm and steady-state visually evoked potential were also tested to validate the proposed electrode.
