Item type:Item, Gender differences in adolescents' online shopping motivations(2010-06-01) ;Huang Jen-Hung ;Yang Yi-Chun ;管理科學系Department of Management ScienceFew studies discuss gender differences in online shopping motivations among adolescents. This study was to investigate gender differences in adolescents' online shopping motivations based on utilitarian and hedonic motivations. Utilitarian motivations consist of convenience, choice, availability of information, lack of sociality, and cost saving, whereas, hedonic motivations comprise adventure, sociality, fashion, value and authority. 639 high school students in Taiwan were selected and the result indicated that male adolescents hold significantly more positive attitudes toward online shopping on utilitarian motivations (for example, convenience, lack of sociality and cost saving) than the female adolescents whereas, female counterparts put more emphasis on hedonic motivations (for example, adventure, sociality, fashion and value) on internet consumption. It suggests that, gender differences really exist in online shopping. The study provides a direction for the further research of internet marketing.Item type:Item, GRA Decision Making Model for the Integrated Strategies of Life Cycle with Industrial Value Chain(2009) ;Huang Jen-Hung ;Chu Tzong-Yau ;Chen Cheng-Tien ;管理科學系Department of Management ScienceThe Competitive environment confronted by acceleration industry life cycle (ILC). The ILC goes through many phases, involves many professional disciplines, and requires many skills, tools and processes. Therefore, this paper proposes an evaluation model combining the concept of ILC and industrial value chain (IVC). In addition, the paper develops the integrated strategies of value chain (ISVC) for the different four stages of ILC. A model is established by analytic hierarchic process (AFP) and grey relational analysis (GRA). It is anticipated that the model can provide the other industries decision maker selection different integrated strategies under the different stages of ILC. Importantly, the proposed model can assist the any industry decision makers to assess the integration strategies, making it highly applicable for academia and commercial purposes.Item type:Item, Using Rasch Model and GRA to Assess International Tourist Hotel Industry Performance(2011) ;Huang Jen-Hung ;Peng Kua-Hsin ;管理科學系Department of Management ScienceGrey relational grade calculations consider equal and unequal grey relational coefficient weights. How to obtain the real grey number representing the importance of each expert for criteria thus is challenging, the Rasch model is a feasible method of generating grey numbers of importance scores obtained using the Likert rating scale. Therefore, this study attempts to use the Rasch model to obtain the weight of grey relational coefficient to analyze the performance of seven districts including Taipei; Kaohsiung; Taichung; Hwalian; Scenery; Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli; Others in Taiwan containing 56 international tourist hotels during 2009 using five criteria. The analytical results reveal that international tourist hotel performance rank of Taiwan during 2009 were Taipei; Scenery; Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli; Kaohsiung; Taichung; Hwalian and others.
