Item type:Item, A Beam Tracking System - System Analysis Incorporating Electromagnetic Field Simulation(2016-01-01) ;Hwang, Ruey-Bing (Raybeam) ;資訊工程學系 ;電機工程學系 ;Department of Computer ScienceDepartment of Electrical and Computer EngineeringIn this summary, the system analysis of a modified mono-pulse tracking system based on the beam-forming technique was carried out. Significantly, the full wave electromagnetic field simulation was incorporated into the calculation for considering the mutual coupling between antennas. The parameters affecting the tracking performance such as signal-to-noise ratio and amplitude/phase imbalance between the two receiver channels were included in this research.Item type:Item, An Invisibility Cloak Design at Microwave Frequency Using Commonly Used Materials(2014) ;Hwang, Ruey-Bing (Raybeam) ;Kuo, Fang-Yao ;資訊工程學系 ;電機學院Department of Computer ScienceIn this work, we present a novel cloaking structure designed at microwave frequency. Different from the cloaking structures in need of effectively negative refractive index medium, such a structure is composed of a regular dielectric medium and metallic cylinders array. From the numerical simulation, we may observe that the cloaking outside a metallic cylinder can mold the propagation of energy flow, reducing the backward scattering of the incident wave.Item type:Item, Binary meta-hologram for a reconfigurable holographic metamaterial antenna(2020-05-22) ;Hwang, Ruey-Bing (Raybeam) ;交大名義發表National Chiao Tung UniversityThis research reports a design method for synthesizing the binary meta-hologram pattern implemented in a leaky waveguide that can radiate the feeding signal toward a prescribed direction. In fact, the obtained pattern is not always a uniform array; it is an almost-periodic one. Statistical analysis of the radiation pattern for imperfect array is then conducted to demonstrate that radiating main-beam angle (ensemble average) is dominated by the average period of a non-uniform array subject to a small perturbation. Additionally, the leaky wave of higher-order space harmonic in a periodic structure is employed to accurately predict the directional radiation including main beam as well as grating lobes.Item type:Item, Observing the surface waves in a grounded dielectric slab(2014) ;Hwang, Ruey-Bing (Raybeam) ;Chen, Wen-Lii ;資訊工程學系 ;電機工程學系Department of Computer ScienceIn this research, we investigated the surface-wave dispersion characteristics in a grounded dielectric slab. Due to the phase match between the plane wave in a high dielectric constant medium and the surface wave supported in the grounded dielectric slab, the plane wave couples into the surface wave and is absorbed by the lossy substrate accordingly. By progressively changing the incident angle and operation frequency, the surface wave dispersion curves can be readily obtained by measuring the absorbance for the incident plane wave.
