A New FORTRAN Processing Program-FORTRAN Processor(19000)-for the IBM-1620 Computer

The existing FORTRAN processor of IBM 1620 digital computer at National Chiao Tung University uses a two-stage translation process to execute a FORTRAN program. Considerable time and paper tape are wasted in this process. This paper describes an one-stage translation process that avoids these disadvantages. This new translation program called FORTRAN processor (19000) is now used in the computer center of National Chiao Tung University.
Study on the Speed of Convergence of the Central Limit Theorem by a Simulation Program

Although sufficient mathematical tools are available to prove the correctness of the central limit theorem, it is only proved in an infinite sense, while the speed of convergence of a sum (Sn) of n independent identically distributed random variables to a normal distributed random variable is not easy to find theoretically. This paper describesa simulation program which may be used to simulate the distribution of Sn for any given n. Then the speed of convergence of the central limit theorem can be studied.
