Our results show not only resonant enhancements that are related to the inter-electronic-band transitions, but also mixed mode behavior with strong coupling between neighboring Raman active modes. Good interpretation is obtained by the spa tial correlation model.Item type:Item, RAMAN-SCATTERING OF SE-DOPED GALLIUM NITRIDE FILMS(1995-10-01) ;KUO, HR ;FENG, MS ;GUO, JD ;LEE, MC材料科學與工程學系Raman spectra of Se-doped gallium nitride films have been measured for the first time with good resolution and a wide range of excitation wavelengths. The signals from both buffer layer and epilayer are identified unambiguously. We have observed not only the resonant scattering related to the transition below the band gap but also the phonon-plasmon coupling due to the doping effect. The carrier concentration obtained from lineshape fitting is consistent with that from Hall measurements. By comparing the Raman shifts with those of other nitrides and gallium compounds, we found that most of them are almost linearly proportional to the square root of reciprocal masses. The bonding strengths are thus inferred from the slopes.Item type:Item, RAMAN-SCATTERING OF THIN-FILM C-60/C-70 FULLERENES(1993-10-01) ;LO, KL ;LEE, MC ;交大名義發表 ;電子物理學系National Chiao Tung UniversityHigh quality thin film fullerenes of C60, C70, and 50% mixture C60/70 were studied by Raman scattering. We observed not only ten complete (2A(g) + 8H(g)) modes in C60, which are assigned in accordance with the point group of a truncated icosahedron, but also drastically more (38) lines in C70, that is owing to the reduced symmetry. By measuring the 50% mixture sample, we were able to distinguish the features of C60 from that of C70. Most of the C60 modes appear at higher frequencies with respect to the corresponding C70 Modes, that is consistent with the cluster-mass difference. We also noticed the lower scattering efficiency Of C60 than that of C70, except the pinch A(g) mode at 1468 cm-1.Item type:Item, RAMAN-SPECTRA OF THE MIXED-CRYSTALS RUSXSE2-X(1992-06-01) ;LIN, HC ;LEE, MC ;LIN, SS ;HUANG, YS電子物理學系The Raman spectra of the mixed RuSxSe2-x crystal systems have been measured for the first time. As the composition parameter x becomes 1.8 and 0.6, both the E(g) and the A(g) modes of pure crystals merge into the RuS2-like and the RuSe2-like-modes, respectively, in the mixed pyrite. The broadenings and shifts are significant for x range between 0.6 and 1.8. These unique features are different from the so called "one-mode" and "two-mode" behaviours of some II-VI, III-V compound alloys. Our results are interpreted in terms of the spatial correlation model.Item type:Item, RAMAN-SPECTRUM OF IRO2(1989-05-01) ;HUANG, YS ;LIN, SS ;HUANG, CR ;LEE, MCDANN, TEItem type:Item, Resonance Raman scattering in ruthenium dichalcogenides(1994) ;LEE, MC ;HWANG, ST ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsItem type:Item, RESONANCE RAMAN-SCATTERING IN PYRITE RUS2(1989-09-01) ;LEE, MC ;HUANG, CR ;YANG, TJW ;HUANG, YSLIN, SSItem type:Item, SELF MODE-LOCKING IN SHORT CAVITY DYE-LASER(1990-03-15) ;CHANG, YS ;HUANG, CR ;LEE, MC ;電子物理學系光電工程學系Item type:Item, TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT RAMAN-SPECTRA OF THIN-FILM C60/C70 FULLERENES AND ITS IMPLICATION IN SUPERCONDUCTOR(1993-12-01) ;LO, KL ;LEE, MC ;交大名義發表 ;電子物理學系National Chiao Tung UniversityThin filMS Of C60, and C70 fullerenes were studied by Raman scattering, from 295 to 10 K. As many as 48(42) peaks at 10(80) K, instead of 2Ag+8Hg modes in C60, and also up to 65 lines in C70 at 80 K are observed. Room temperature shoulders and mode-splitting are confirmed. They are due to new phases with the reduced symmetry at low temperatures and freezing of buckyball rotation. Besides, laser heating revealed new structures that may affect superconducting property.Item type:Item, UNDERSTANDING MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSIONS USING PROCEDURE-ORIENTED TRANSFORMATION(1994-03-01) ;LEE, HJ ;LEE, MC ;交大名義發表 ;資訊工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityA system for understanding mathematical expressions is presented. The mathematical expressions scanned from a printed document are recognized and transformed into one-dimensional (1D) strings according to the format of a publication system. After separating all symbols in an input mathematical expression, 13 features are utilized to represent each symbol. In order to reduce the computational time, a coarse classification algorithm is applied to reduce the number of candidates. Then for each input symbol, the character with the highest similarity is selected as the candidate symbol. Since some of the symbols in an arithmetical expression may touch each other, a dynamic programming algorithm which uses structural features is adopted to identify correct characters from connected symbols. In the expression formation stage, a procedure-oriented method is proposed to translate the recognized symbols from a two-dimensional (2D) space into a 1D character string. A total of 105 mathematical expressions have been used as training data and 50 expressions as testing data. The experimental results have demonstrated the feasibility of the understanding system.
