COMPOSITION EFFECT ON THE RATE OF CRYSTALLIZATION(1995-05-31) ;OU, CF ;LIN, CC ;材料科學與工程學系Department of Materials Science and EngineeringPoly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) was blended with four different kinds of eo[poly(ethylene terephthalate-p-oxybenzoate)] copolyesters, designated P28, P46, P64, and P82, with the level of copolyester varing from 1 to 15 wt%. All samples were prepared by melt-mixing in a Brabender Plasticorder for 8 min. The crystallization behavior of samples were then studied via DSC. The results indicate that these four copolyesters accelerate the crystallization rate of PET in a manner similar to that of a nucleating agent. The acceleration of the PET crystallization rate was most pronounced in the PET/P28 blends with a maximum level at 10 wt% of P28, and in the PET/P82 blends, at 5 wt% of P82. The melting endotherm onset temperatures and the melting peak widths for the blends are comparable with those of neat PET. These results imply that the stability of PET crystalline phase in the blends does not change by blending. The observed changes in crystallization behavior, however, are explained by the effect of the physical state of the copolyester during PET crystallization as well as the content of the p-oxybenzoate (POB) moiety incorporated into the blends. CRYSTALLIZATION KINETICS BY DSC STUDY(1994-11-28) ;OU, CF ;LIN, CC ;材料科學與工程學系Department of Materials Science and EngineeringThe dynamic and isothermal crystallization behaviors of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) blended with two types of co[poly(ethylene terephthalate-p-oxybenzoate){ copolyesters with different compositions, i.e., POB/PET = 20/80 (P28) and POB/PET = 80/20 (P82), has been studied by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Both of these copolyesters in 10 wt % increase crystallization rate of PET in a manner similar to that of a nucleating agent. It is found that sample P28, which is an isotropic copolyester, accelerates the crystallization rate more significantly than that of P82, which is a thermotropic copolyester. The Avrami exponents n and rate constants k of these samples based on DSC studies were obtained in order to discuss the crystallization kinetics of PET accelerated by these copolyesters. The crystallization rate of the blends is also increased by 8 min blending due to the increased uniformity of the copolyester dispersed in the PET matrix. X-RAY-DIFFRACTION ANALYSIS(1993-02-10) ;SHINN, TH ;LIN, CC ;應用化學系Department of Applied ChemistryA series of co [poly (ethylene terephthalate-p-oxybenzoate)] thermotropic copolyester with different compositions were prepared by the copolymerization of either poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) polymer or its oligomer with p-acetoxy-benzoic acid. The polymeric products were subjected to solid-state polymerization for various time intervals. Effects of composition ratio and solid-state polymerization time on X-ray diffraction behavior were investigated. It is found that the effect of transesterification induced by solid-state polymerization causes an increase in crystallinity with the copolyesters having high mol % of p-oxybenzoic acid (POB) moiety and causes a decrease in crystallinity with the copolyesters having high mol % of PET moiety. In general, the crystallinity of copolyesters is first increased and then decreased as solid-state polymerization time proceeds. However, the crystallinity of copolyester having POB/PET = 80/20 composition is increased generally at 4-h solid-state polymerization. It is also found that the crystallinity of copolyesters is decreased by quenching. The copolyester based upon either PET oligomer with 4-h solid-state polymerization or PET polymer with 8-h solid-state polymerization shows the most similar X-ray diffraction pattern with that of Eastman 10109.Item type:Item, DEPOLYMERIZATION OF POLY(ETHYLENE-TEREPHTHALATE) RESIN UNDER PRESSURE(1991-03-20) ;CHEN, JY ;OU, CF ;HU, YC ;LIN, CC應用化學系The process of depolymerization of PET resin by EG glycolysis under pressure is investigated. The kinetics of this pressurized depolymerization of PET resin is discussed. It was found that the rate of deploymerization is dependent of temperature, pressure, and concentration ratio of EG to PET. The rate of depolymerization is proportional to the square of EG concentration and faster than that under atmospheric pressure. Glycolyzed products under pressure consist of the PET monomer, BHET, and oligomers, mostly dimer and trimer. An equilibrium between BHET and oligomers is attained quickly soon after the deploymerization step is completed in the case of a higher ratio of EG/PET used. In the case of lower ratio of EG/PET, the final product now consists of molecular weight of oligomers rather than monomer, dimer, and trimer.Item type:Item, FORMATION OF TETRAACETAL OXA-CAGES AND CONVEX OXA-CAGES ON OZONOLYSIS OF BICYCLO[2.2.2]OCTENES(1995-10-01) ;LIN, CC ;WU, HJ ;應用化學系Department of Applied ChemistryTetraacetal oxa-cage compounds 5a and 5b and convex era-cage compounds 7a and 8a are synthesized in a short sequence. Reaction of the propargyl ether (2) with t-BuOK in t-BuOH at 85-degrees-C for 3 h gave a mixture of the cycloadducts (3) and (4) in 90% yield, which were transferred to the benzo derivatives (5), (6) and (7). Treatment of the propargyl ether (8) with t-BuoK in t-BuOH at 85-degrees-C for 5 h gave the products (9) and (10) in a ratio of 8:1 in 65% yield, no detectable amount of the cycloadduct (8b) was obtained. Refluxing of the propargyl ether (13) with t-BuOK in t-BuOH at 85-degrees-C for 4 h gave the allenyl ether (14). Heating 14 in DMSO at 15-degrees-C for 12 h still did not give 15.Item type:Item, INTRAMOLECULAR DIELS-ALDER REACTIONS OF FURANS WITH ALLENYL ETHERS - FORMATION OF INDANONE AND TETRALONE(1991-12-01) ;LIN, CC ;CHEN, LH ;WU, HJ ;交大名義發表應用化學系The intramolecular Diels-Alder reactions of the furans 3, 11a and 11b produced indanone 6 and tetralones 14a and 14b respectively, presumably via the corresponding allenyl ethers 4, 12a and 12b and the intramolecular cycloadducts 5, 13a and 13b.Item type:Item, MOLECULAR-BEAM EPITAXY REGROWTH USING A THIN IN LAYER FOR SURFACE PASSIVATION(1995-05-08) ;PENG, CK ;TU, SL ;CHEN, SS ;LIN, CC材料科學與工程學系Item type:Item, NOVEL HETEROCYCLIC CAGE COMPOUNDS FROM 2-METHYLTHIOFURANS(1991-06-01) ;WU, HJ ;HUANG, FJ ;LIN, CC ;交大名義發表應用化學系Some novel heterocyclic cage compounds 1a-1c were synthesized from the corresponding 2-methylthiofurans 2a-2c in a short sequence.Item type:Item, NOVEL OXA-CAGE COMPOUNDS - SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURES, AND THE FORMATION MECHANISM OF TETRAACETAL OXA-CAGES AND CONVEX TETRAQUINANE OXA-CAGES(1995-11-17) ;WU, HJ ;LIN, CC ;交大名義發表 ;應用化學系National Chiao Tung UniversitySeveral novel tetraacetal era-cage compounds 5a-d and convex tetraquinane era-cage compounds 16a-d and 17b-d are synthesized from alkylfurans in three steps. Ozonolysis of the cis-endo-1,4-diones 3a-d in dichloromethane at -78 degrees C followed by reduction with dimethyl sulfide gives the era-cages 5a-d in high yields, respectively. The structures of these new tetraacetal era-cages are deduced from their spectral data and proven for the first time by X-ray analysis of the crystalline compound 5a. Ozonolysis of 3a-d in dichloromethane at -78 degrees C followed by treatment with triethylamine gives the convex tetraquinane era-cages 16a-d and 17b-d in 85-90% yields, respectively. The structures of these novel convex tetraquinane era-cages are finally proven by X-ray analysis of the crystalline compound 16a. Two reaction mechanisms via the common final ozonides are proposed for the formation of these two different types of era-cage compounds. The structures of the final ozonides formed by ozonolysis of the norbornene derivatives 3 are deduced to be 9 with endo stereochemistry on the basis of their spectral data and the formation of these two types of era-cages from the final ozonides. In reaction with the final ozonides, triethylamine is found to act as a base instead of a reducing agent, a different function from that of dimethyl sulfide. The synthesis of era-cages 24 and 25, which possess aromatic substituents directly on the skeleton, has also been accomplished.Item type:Item, OPTICAL AND RAMAN CORRELATION OF LASER RECRYSTALLIZED AND QUENCHED AMORPHOUS-SILICON FILM - A MICROPROBE STUDY(1990-06-14) ;HUANG, CR ;LEE, MC ;CHANG, YS ;LIN, CCCHAO, YFItem type:Item, PHASE-TRANSFORMATIONS OF GEL-DERIVED MAGNESIA PARTIALLY-STABILIZED ZIRCONIAS(1987-03-01) ;TSENG, TY ;LIN, CC ;LIAW, JT ;交大名義發表National Chiao Tung UniversityItem type:Item, POLYESTER CEMENT COMPOSITE FOR ELECTRICAL INSULATORS(1992) ;LIN, CC ;材料科學與工程學系Department of Materials Science and EngineeringItem type:Item, POLYURETHANES SYNTHESIZED FROM POLYESTER POLYOLS DERIVED FROM PET WASTE .1. The PET waste was first depolymerized by glycolysis. The glycolysized products were reacted with adipic acid to yield polyester polyols, and the polyester polyols were then reacted with either MDI or TDI to obtain polyurethanes.
