Item type:Item, High performance dye-sensitized solar cells based on platinum nanoparticle/multi-wall carbon nanotube counter electrodes: The role of annealing(2012-04-01) ;Huang, Kuan-Chieh ;Wang, Ying-Chiao ;Chen, Po-Yen ;Lai, Yi-HsuanHuang, Jen-HsienA composite film is coated on the FTO using a solution, containing a synthesized dispersant, poly(oxyethylene)-segmented imide (POEM), dihydrogen hexachloroplatinate (H2PtCl6), and multi-wall carbon nanotube(MWCNT); the thus coated FTO is used as the counter electrode (CE) for a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The annealing temperature of the composite film, in the range of 110-580 degrees C, is found to be crucial for optimizing its catalytic ability to obtain the best possible performance for the DSSC. About 47% loss in mass for the POEM/H2PtCl6/MWCNT composite is observed from 110 to 390 degrees C, due to not only the progressive formation of PtNPs from H2PtCl6 but the decomposition of POEM. Therefore, the efficiencies (eta) of DSSCs applying these CEs are enhanced from 1.28 +/- 0.08% (110 degrees C) to 8.47 +/- 0.21% (390 degrees C). The mass of the composite loses dramatically under heating above 390 degrees C, due to the decomposition of MWCNTs. The eta decreases to 7.77 +/- 0.15% at 450 degrees C because the decrease in surface roughness of film. PtNPs grow in sizes from 450 to 580 degrees C, resulting in the further decrease in catalytic ability of film and the observed eta from 7.77 +/- 0.15% to 7.19 +/- 0.21%. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. (2003) of regression parameters are shown to have the desired property of a robust Gauss Markov theorem. This is done by showing that these two estimators are the best among classes of linear trimmed means. Monte Carlo and data analysis for this technique have been performed. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. Extending the outlier mean of Chen et al. (2010a), we develop the asymptotic distributions of the outlier least squares estimator (LSE) and the outlier proportion for the linear regression model. An optimal property of the best linear outlier mean acting as an outlier estimator version of the Gauss Markov theorem for the outlier LSE is presented. Power comparisons demonstrate that tests based on outlier estimators are competitive in detecting a shift of the parent tail distribution. An analysis of DNA microarray data from samples of pancreatic breast tumors supports the use of outlier-based methods. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. Basically, TAEC explores the temporal dependence of video frames by pushing out the lower impact frames. In doing so, queuing delay is controlled and the important frame is retransmitted multiple times. We consider the application of the nonstationary stochastic control to further improve the wireless system throughput by exploring the multiuser diversity gain. The techniques involved in our proposed solution consist of constructing a Markov model, reducing the number of parameters estimated, and avoiding the state explosion problem. The provisioning of immediate bandwidth guarantee is another feature of TAEC, i.e., when exploring the multiuser diversity gain, the users share their reserved bandwidth only if the perceived video qualities are acceptable. As shown in the simulation, TAEC improves the perceived video quality in terms of luminance PSNR when compared to other schemes.Item type:Item, Validation of tolerance interval(2012-04-01) ;Lai, Yi-Hsuan ;Yen, Ya-Fen ;Chen, Lin-An ;統計學研究所Institute of StatisticsThe tolerance interval receives very much attention in literature and is widely applied in industry. However, it is generally constructed through the criterion of minimum width by Eisenhart et al. (1947). Although effort for clarification of several prediction related intervals has been made recently by Huang et al. (2010). the appropriateness of the tolerance interval for its role in industry applications is insufficiently discussed. According to manufacturers' requests, a concept of admissibility of tolerance intervals is defined in this paper and we show that these types of tolerance intervals are not admissible due to short of confidence. We further prove that a 100(1-alpha)% confidence interval of a gamma-coverage interval is admissible and is appropriate for use. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
