Item type:Item, An assessment of exploiting renewable energy sources with concerns of policy and technology(2010-08-01) ;Shen, Yung-Chi ;Lin, Grace T. R. ;Li, Kuang-Pin ;Yuan, Benjamin J. C.科技管理研究所In recent years, the Taiwanese government has vigorously promoted the development of renewable energy to engage the challenges of gradual depletion of fossil fuels and oil, as well as the intensification of the greenhouse effect. Since the Sustainable Energy Policy Principles were announced in 2008, Taiwanese government has declared that the development of renewable energy should take into account goals that pertain to energy, the environment, and the economy (3E goals). This study aims to assess the 3E goals and renewable energy sources regulated by the Renewable Energy Development Bill that passed in 2009. The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) is used to resolve the multi-goal problem for achieving our research purposes. That is, this research attempts to reveal the suitable renewable energy sources for the purposes of meeting the 3E policy goals. The results first show that environmental goal is the most important to the development of various renewable energy technologies in Taiwan, followed by the economic and energy goals. Additionally, hydropower, solar energy, and wind energy would be the renewable energy sources utilized in meeting the 3E policy goals. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. As a social capital for innovations, crowdfunding has led to the creations of new funding models and business logic for startups. Currently, the major types of crowdfunding models encompass rewards, donation, equity, and debt/leading models. The boom of crowdfunding could be attributed to the emergence of the collaborative economy. Despite its popularity in practice, crowdfunding needs further academic research to fill its research gap. Hence, this paper conducts a cross-national comparison of the equity crowdfunding mechanisms and focuses on regulatory environments by analyzing several equity crowdfunding platforms respectively in the U.S., the U.K., Israel, China, and Taiwan. Through secondary qualitative study, the result reveals that three of the five countries we study (the U.K., Israel, and Taiwan) authenticate the equity crowdfunding to the general public whereas this type of investment is still limited only to accredited investors in the U.S. and China. It is concluded that equity crowdfunding is an alternative capital raising model that will grow and is beneficial for social innovation in the future.Item type:Item, INCREASING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE OF EMPLOYEES: EVIDENCE FROM RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TEAMS IN TAIWAN(2012) ;Yuan, Benjamin J. The findings showed that, compared with their coworkers, those employees who perceived their leaders as demonstrating more transformational leadership at Time 1, were more likely than others to develop increases in emotional intelligence behavior over time, which consequently improved their task performance and led to the development of an increase in their organizational citizenship behaviors.Item type:Item, The Foresight Model that Focuses on Political and Social(2010) ;Kang, Tsai-Hua ;Jia-Horng, Shieh ;Chang, Chien Ching ;Li, Kuang-PinTsai, Li-MinDue to global competition and rapid technological advancement, foresight has become an important method of formulating technological policies.
