Item type:Item, Electron-phonon dephasing time due to the quasistatic scattering potential in metallic glass CuZrAl(2006-11-01) ;Li, L. ;Lin, S. T. ;Dong, C. ;Lin, J. J.電子物理學系We have measured the electron-phonon scattering time in the metallic glass CuZrAl between 0.37 and 16 K, using the weak-localization magnetoresistance. The electron dephasing rate reveals a T-2 temperature dependence for almost two decades of temperature and is in good quantitative agreement with the theory considering the interference of electron-phonon and elastic electron scattering mechanisms in the presence of quasielastic scattering potential. In addition, this result demonstrates that the Pippard ineffectiveness condition for electron-phonon scattering is not applicable to amorphous alloys that comprise atoms with considerably different atomic masses.Item type:Item, Low frequency noise characterization of CoFeB/MgO/CoFeB MTJ based perpendicular field sensor.(2015) ;Lee, Y. ;Das, B. ;Li, L. ;Suen, Y.Horng, L.Item type:Item, Single-domain multiferroic BiFeO3 films(2016-09-01) ;Kuo, C. -Y. ;Hu, Z. ;Yang, J. C. ;Liao, S. -C.Huang, Y. L.The strong coupling between antiferromagnetism and ferroelectricity at room temperature found in BiFeO3 generates high expectations for the design and development of technological devices with novel functionalities. However, the multi-domain nature of the material tends to nullify the properties of interest and complicates the thorough understanding of the mechanisms that are responsible for those properties. Here we report the realization of a BiFeO3 material in thin film form with single-domain behaviour in both its magnetism and ferroelectricity: the entire film shows its antiferromagnetic axis aligned along the crystallographic b axis and its ferroelectric polarization along the c axis. With this we are able to reveal that the canted ferromagnetic moment due to the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction is parallel to the a axis. Furthermore, by fabricating a Co/BiFeO3 heterostructure, we demonstrate that the ferromagnetic moment of the Co film does couple directly to the canted moment of BiFeO3.
