Item type:Item, A Criterion of Heat Transfer Deterioration for Supercritical Organic Fluids Flowing Upward and Its Heat Transfer Correlation(2020-02-01) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Liaw, Jane-Sunn ;Wang, Chi-Chuan ;機械工程學系Department of Mechanical EngineeringThe main objective of this study was to develop the supercritical heat transfer correlation applicable for organic fluids when flowing upward in smooth tubes based on the available experimental data. The organic fluids contain R-22, R-134a, R-245fa and Ethanol and the associated heat transfer characteristics were compared with non-organic fluids like water and carbon-dioxide (CO2). It was found that the limit heat flux may result in heat transfer deterioration (HTD) of organic fluid and the corresponding values are much smaller than water or CO2. A new criterion to predict the HTD was developed and this criterion yields the best predictive ability against database. It was found that HTD occurs can be well described by the acceleration parameter evaluated at the wall condition rather than at bulk condition. For estimation of the supercritical heat transfer coefficient (HTC) for organic fluid, the present study proposes a new correlation with a physically based correction factor, which gives satisfactory predictions against the HTC of supercritical organic fluid. The new correlation can offer the smallest average deviation of 0.007 and standard deviation of 0.181 among the existing correlations.Item type:Item, A Diffusing Path Planning Mechanism for Marketing Information Propagation over Social Media(2013-01-01) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Lai, Cheng-Yang ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceSocial media are gaining importance as a component of marketing strategies. Many of them, such as social networking site, blogosphere, and microblogosphere, have been seeking business opportunities and establishing brand expression in recent years. Online marketing information diffusion becomes the critical business model for online social networks. Marketers attempt to diffuse advertisements for reaching potential customers through the Internet. However, current marketing research discovered possible influencers but not appropriate support them to diffuse advertisements. In this research, a diffusing path planning mechanism for advertisement was developed for supporting influencers to propagate marketing information and supporting marketers to evaluate possible reward under different marketing strategies.Item type:Item, A diffusion mechanism for social advertising over microblogs(2012-12-01) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Shiu, Ya-Lin ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceSocial media have increasingly become popular platforms for information dissemination. Many types of social media, such as social networking sites, blogospheres and micro-blogospheres, have been seeking business opportunities and establishing brand expression in the recent years. Online marketing information diffusion has become the critical business model of online social networks. However, most of the current marketing studies on discovering potential influences do not appropriately support them to diffuse advertisements. Therefore, marketing information may be lost during the diffusion process and cannot be sent to potential customers successfully. In this research, a diffusion path planning mechanism for advertisements is developed to help influencers to propagate marketing information and help marketers to evaluate possible rewards under different marketing strategies. Our experimental results show that the proposed mechanism can significantly improve the diffusion process of advertising messages and decrease marketing uncertainty. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. Today, crowdfunding platforms have also become popular, and charities often use these to fundraise. However, they rarely utilize the power of social networking to assist a fundraiser in discovering potential donors, and this is especially true for small organizations and individuals. In this research, we propose a recommendation mechanism for social fundraising that analyzes the donor's preferences, the relationship between the donor and fundraiser, and the characteristics of the fundraising dynamics to promote the spread of philanthropic fundraising. The proposed mechanism can effectively discover appropriate donors and relevant campaigns to expedite the fundraising process and improve its success rate.Item type:Item, A Social Recommendation Mechanism for Crowdfunding(2017-01-01) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Liou, Jyh-Hwa ;Li, Yi-Wen ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceIn recent years, a new kind of fund-raising mode crowdfunding, is gradually arising. Through the rapid spread of the Internet, customers can show their creativity and ideas on the fundraising platform and attract backers to invest extensively in support of the count painting or product development. Due to the characteristics of these emerging technologies, the digital content market is growing rapidly and traditional content providers face service transformation decisions. While a majority of the previous technology adoption studies have focused on the viewpoints of users and customers, cost reduction, or electronic channel related technologies, in this research we analyze the emerging technology adoption decisions of competing firms for providing new content services from a strategic perspective. Utilizing game theoretical models, we examine the effects of market environments (technology cost, channel cannibalization, brand power, brand extension, information asymmetry and market uncertainty) on firms' adoption decisions. This research contributes a number of unique and interesting implications for the issues of emerging technology adoption for new content service provision.Item type:Item, Analysis of pricing strategies for community-based group buying: The impact of competition and waiting cost(2012-07-01) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Jhang-Li, Jhih-Hua ;Hwang, Ting-Kai ;Chen, Ping-Wen資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Group buying is one of the major pricing mechanisms in which retailers can offer low group rates due to a saving on transaction costs and its target consumers are those with lower sensitivity on waiting time. Under group buying, group size significantly affects the waiting cost to which consumers have different tolerances. In this paper, we develop a two-stage pricing game to evaluate the impact of the waiting cost, competition, and group-facilitating technology on the profitability and efficiency of community-based group buying. Our results point out that when a monopolistic retailer operates a mixed channel, the retailer will charge a relatively high group rates in the group-buying channel to force most consumers to choose individual buying unless the transaction cost in the individual-buying channel is sufficiently high. If two competing retailers adopt different pure channels, investment in group-facilitating technology may weaken the profit of the retailer adopting community-based group buying when the actual selling-cost saving resulted from community-based group buying is not significant.Item type:Item, Analysis of scale effects in preer-to-peer networks(2008-06-01) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Tan, Yong ;Zhou, Yong-Pin ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceIn this paper, we study both positive and negative scale effects on the operations of peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks and propose the optimal sizing (number of peers) and grouping (number of directory intermediary) decisions. Using analytical models and simulation, we evaluate various performance metrics to investigate the characteristics of a P2P network. Our results show that increasing network scale has a positive effect on the expected content availability and transmission cost, but a negative effect on the expected provision and search costs. We propose an explicit expression for the overall utility of a content sharing P2P community that incorporates tradeoffs among all of the performance measures. This utility function is maximized numerically to obtain the optimal network size (or scale). We also investigate the impact of various P2P network parameters on the performance measures as well as optimal scaling decisions. Furthermore, we extend the model to examine the grouping decision in networks with symmetric interconnection structures and compare the performance between random- and location-based grouping policies.Item type:Item, Analyzing Monetization Models for the Digital Content Services: Channel Ownership and Royalty Contracts(2012-01-01) ;Li, Yung-Ming ;Fang, Yuan ;Jin, Bih-Huang ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceThe formats and access models of digital content are increasingly rich and diverse as the advancement of internet and mobile technologies. In this paper, utilizing a game theoretic model, we analyze the adoption and monetization models of heterogeneous content channels (mobile and website content). The pricing and advertising strategies of pay and advertisement-supported content under different channel and content ownership structures are examined. Furthermore, under asymmetric content ownership (only one of two channels own the content), popular monetary transfer contracts are realized to license the opponent channel. The impacts of market parameters (such as quality differentiation and online advertisement factors) on the development of business strategies are presented.
