Item type:Item, Amorphous InGaZnO Thin-Film Transistors Compatible With Roll-to-Roll Fabrication at Room Temperature(2012-01-01) ;Yu, Ming-Jiue ;Yeh, Yung-Hui ;Cheng, Chun-Cheng ;Lin, Chang-YuHo, Geng-TaiHigh-performance amorphous InGaZnO (a-IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs) are successfully fabricated on a colorless polyimide substrate using a top-gate self-aligned structure. All thin films are deposited by roll-to-roll-compatible sputtering processes at room temperature. The maximum field-effect mobility is 18 cm(2)/V . s, the threshold voltage is - 1.35 V, the subthreshold slope is 0.1 V/decade, and the on/off current ratio is about 10(5). The results highlight that excellent device performance can be realized in a-IGZO TFTs without compromising manufacturability.Item type:Item, DYNAMIC SIMULATION OF WIRELESS STRUCTURAL MONITORING SYSTEM USING PETRI NETS(2007) ;Chen, Yi-Ming ;Lin, Chang-Yu ;交大名義發表National Chiao Tung UniversityTo certify the safety of existing buildings, more and more structural monitoring systems are installed, especially in the application of wireless sensors. However, the main weakness of wireless sensors is their short operative time due to limited battery life. Besides, the factors include the detective locations of wireless sensors and the effects by the various structural materials. For these reasons, this study proposes a dynamic information framework of the wireless structural monitoring system that applied the Petri Nets and Fuzzy rule-based reasoning theorem. This dynamic simulated framework, called 4D-Fuzzy Petri Nets, considers the three-dimensional structural space as well as the duration of the wireless sensor. 4D-Petri Nets adapted the spaces to be the positions of wireless sensors in the structure, and the possible token carried the information from the wireless sensor. Moreover, different transitions were given by the different time conditions and weights. For the sake of sifting the wireless signals, the Fuzzy Petri Nets Model with database deals with the wrong situations. Under the 4D-Fuzzy Petri Nets, architects can quickly design the wireless structural monitoring system for different structures and extend the life of batteries at least two to five times.Item type:Item, Effects of Mechanical Strains on the Characteristics of Top-Gate Staggered a-IGZO Thin-Film Transistors Fabricated on Polyimide-Based Nanocomposite Substrates(2012-07-01) ;Lin, Chang-Yu ;Chien, Chih-Wei ;Wu, Chung-Chih ;Yeh, Yung-HuiCheng, Chun-ChengIn this paper, we had successfully implemented flexible top-gate staggered amorphous In-Ga-Zn-O (a-IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs) on colorless and transparent polyimide (PI)-based nanocomposite substrates using fully lithographic and etching processes that are compatible with existing TFT mass fabrication technologies. The use of the selectively coated release layer between the nanocomposite PI film and the glass carrier ensured smooth debonding of the plastic substrate after TFT fabrication. The TFTs showed decent performances (with mobility > 10 cm(2)/V . s) either as fabricated or as debonded from the carrier glass. By bending the devices to different radii of curvature (from a flat state to an outward bending radius of 5 mm), influences of mechanical strains on the characteristics of flexible a-IGZO TFTs were also investigated. In general, the mobility of the flexible a-IGZO TFT increased with the tensile strain, whereas the threshold voltage decreased with the tensile strain. The variation of the mobility in a-IGZO TFTs versus the strain appeared smaller than those observed for amorphous silicon TFTs.Item type:Item, Integrating wireless and speech technologies for synchronous on-site data collection(2007-05-01) ;Tsai, Ming-Kuan ;Yang, Jyh-Bin ;Lin, Chang-Yu ;土木工程學系Department of Civil EngineeringEfficient on-site data collection is important for ensuring timely information flow and successful project management. Although applying information technologies and electronic devices to reduce time-consuming manual paperwork has been valued, one previous study has indicated that asynchronous operations with unnecessary subprocesses still affect information production and transmission. Implementing synchronization-based processes is a solution to enhancing on-site data collection performance. However, these synchronized processes based on worker cooperation still have room to improve their efficiency. Continuous improvement is essential to satisfying this objective. This study thus develops a synchronous system integrated with wireless and speech technologies to enhance the cooperation between construction workers and application devices. System tests and efficiency evaluation in a material management case study demonstrate that this system increased productivity, reduced operation time and simplified subprocesses for activity completion. The synchronous system not only represents a novel application for on-site material management, but also provides a framework for applying wireless and speech technologies for similar on-site information management. When construction workers report activity information, project managers understand activity progresses. This procedure forms information exchange and flow. However, the lack of up-to-date information still causes project problems (such as increasing unnecessary costs, making erroneous decisions and improper activity scheduling), and highlights the importance of on-site data collection. For improving this condition, this study integrates two managerial philosophies ("theory of constraints (TOC)" and lean construction) to propose a synchronization-based model. When this model was applied for a material management case study, asynchronous operations accompanied with unnecessary subprocesses were recognized as an influence on on-site information production and transmission. This study then applied synchronous operations based on worker cooperation to resolve these problems, and evaluated the efficiency obtained by the identified measurements. The proposed model offers not only a prototype of synchronous on-site data collection, but also a mechanism for activity performance improvement. (C) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
