Item type:Item, A Novel Evaluation Model for the Vehicle Navigation Device Market Using Hybrid MCDM Techniques(2009) ;Lin, Chia-Li ;Hsieh, Meng-Shu ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyThe developing strategy of ND is also presented to initiate the product roadmap. Criteria For evaluation are constructed via reviewing papers, interviewing experts and brain-storming. The ISM (interpretive structural modeling) method was used to construct the relationship between each criterion. The existing NDs were sampled to benchmark the gap between the consumer's aspired/desired utilities with respect to the utilities of existing/developing NDs. The VIKOR method was applied to rank the sampled NDs. This paper will propose the key driving criteria of purchasing new ND and compare the consumer behavior of various characters. Those conclusions can be served as a reference for ND producers for improving existing functions or planning further utilities in the next e-era ND generation.Item type:Item, A novel hybrid MCDM approach for outsourcing vendor selection: A case study for a semiconductor company in Taiwan(2010-07-01) ;Lin, Ya-Ti ;Lin, Chia-Li ;Yu, Hsiao-Cheng ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung科技管理研究所Outsourcing manufacturing is a trend in today's global business operations. Vendor selection is an essential factor affecting outsourcing operations performance and has been determined as a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. The purpose of this paper is to propose a novel hybrid MCDM technique to cope with the complex and interactive vendor evaluation and selection problem which can determine the structural relationships and the interrelationships amongst all the evaluation's dimensions and support the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method to arrange appropriate weightings to each dimension and criterion in the evaluation model by summarizing the opinions of the experts. Finally, the overall performance ranking of all alternatives can be obtained to assist the decision making. Taiwan semiconductor industry is the largest provider in worldwide market. It is vertically disintegrated and outsourcing is a main stream practice. Wafer-testing is a critical manufacturing step in the semiconductor supply chain that distinguishes whether the IC can meet the specifications. Consequently, it's crucial to establish a thorough model for selecting the wafer-testing vendors in order to achieve the success of the outsourcing operation. A case study of a Taiwan semiconductor company in selecting its wafer-testing outsourcing vendor by using the proposed MCDM technique is demonstrated to enhance the decision making quality. The results and proposed solution can be referred to by not only the semiconductor companies, but also other industries so that they can improve the vendor selection process in order to achieve a higher performance and satisfaction level. The number of people paying to download music is on the rise. Digital music files, mainly in MP3 format, have become widespread on the internet. Downloading digital products for free may harm creators and music publishers, because it is very easy to obtain free-music through peer-to-peer sharing technologies over the internet. At the same time, portable entertainment devices and mobile phones are now able to carry music files, enabling people to access music much more easily. On the other hand, with the coming of the 5G in the telecom infrastructure, the rise in downloading music using mobile devices becomes possible. People can access online-music platform services through cable/ADSL with their digital devices (e.g., Personal computer, Notebook and Smart phone) or through the telecom services accompanying their mobile devices. Therefore, a critical issue for record publishers, or digital music service providers, is how to provide services to create value and fulfill customer needs. By determining customer music service needs and intentions, this study identifies the selection criteria necessary for customers to evaluate and select digital music service platforms. A novel MCDM (Multiple Criteria Decision Making) technique is developed that integrates the Decision making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Analytical Network Procedure (ANP), and VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR). This technique ranks and improves the digital music service platforms to obtain the best win-win service selection. This paper will propose the key driving aspects of the digital music service platforms and rank them by using the model proposed. The conclusions are composed of suggestions for service providers to improve their existing functions and plan further utilities for the digital music service platforms. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. In this study, we differentiate the decisive factors effecting enterprises in choosing the right places for production, R&D and marketing. We also provide proposed development strategies and operation models for the authorities of science (technology) park to advance the parks' Value. This study compares various industrial clusters using the DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) technique to establish industrial structures. To do this, four aspects are considered: human resources, technology resources, invest environments and market development. These aspects encompass 28 evaluation criteria to determine the establishment attributes of clusters. Two well-known industrial cluster parks, the Neihu technology park and the Hsinchu science park as example, both in Northern Taiwan, are our case studies for this project. The Neihu technology park is the industrial cluster of R&D and marketing. The Hsinchu science park is the industrial cluster of production and manufacture. The DEMATEL technique is used to determine the relationship between the evaluation criteria and establish their value structures. The key performance criteria Could be sieved out and shall be further improved. The conclusions shall propose development strategies and operation models for vendors or the authorities of science (technology) parks to advance the parks' value. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. Knowing the factors to which design delays are most sensitive supports the time management of designs. However, factors that cause design delays are several and interrelated. This study proposes a new model to identify key factors that drive design delays. The core of the model integrates importance-satisfaction analysis (ISA) and an influence-relations map (IRM). The ISA evaluates the performance of each delay factor, while the IRM captures the causal relationships among factors. Additionally, the IRM is generated using a decision making trial and evaluation laboratory technique (DEMATEL). The model is applied to a real-world high-tech facility construction project to indicate the strengths of the model. In this investigation, four first-level delay factors and 17 second-level delay sub-factors are derived. The factor of "organization\'s decision making and budget constraints" is identified as the key driver of design delays in the project of interest. The results support management in determining which problem factors should be given priority attention. The proposed model can be employed in other decision-making situations that involve interrelated factors.Item type:Item, DEMATEL-based model to improve the performance in a matrix organization(2012-04-01) ;Wang, Wei-Chih ;Lin, Yueh-Hua ;Lin, Chia-Li ;Chung, Chu-HsuanLee, Ming-TsungCarrying out a design project for a high-tech facility requires a large amount of special knowledge in order to deal with the specific requirements from the client. Often the client forms a matrix organization, structured with several interrelated functional and project divisions to dictate the various requirements and needs. However, an ill-defined matrix organization is likely to result in late and inadequate decisions. This in turn may result in a poorly performing design. Identifying those divisions within the organization that perform poorly in the way they provide information for the project is critical. Therefore, this study proposes an innovative model to identify those divisions that may be responsible for the poor performance of the design project. The proposed model integrates the satisfied importance analysis (SIA) and the decision making trial and evaluation laboratory technique (DEMATEL). The SIA evaluates the performance of each division, while the DEMATEL captures the causal relationships among divisions to generate an influence-relations map. The proposed model is applied to a real-world high-tech facility design project in Taiwan to demonstrate the strengths of the model. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. Importantly, VTS enables a vehicle to become a multifunction mobile-services platform. Cars are now designed not only for transportation, but also to provide value-added services covering navigation, safety, security, information, communications and entertainment. Drivers or passengers can contact a call center via VTS to access aspired/desired services and information online. Therefore, VTS increases both the utility/functions and the safety of driving. Developing the optimal VTS that satisfies with consumers' needs has become the foremost concern of automobile producers. This study will attempt to identify the required VTS utilities between distinguishing characteristics/features of consumers and propose the ideal service combinations for the next e-era generation VTS. An evaluating model by six aspects to be considered/constructed, which encompasses 25 criteria, is built to identify consumers' needs for the next e-era generation VTS. In the paper, a Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique is used to construct the network relation-map (NRM) among the criteria of each aspect. These criteria are not mutually independent: instead, they have feedback mechanisms. The Analytical Network Process (ANP) based on NRM is used to determine the relative weightings among those criteria. Moreover, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is used to determine and improve the gaps among the distinguishing characteristics/features of consumers' desired utilities with respect to services/provide the decision-maker of Telemetics Service Provider (TSP) for improving existing functions or planning further utilities in the next-generation VTS. Based on above NRM those results can be served as a suggestion for the TSP to improve the existing functions or plan further utilities/functions for reducing the gaps and satisfying the users' needs in next e-era generation VTS. The interaction of Enterobius vermicularis infection in particular with gut microbiota and induced immune responses has never been thoroughly examined. Methodology/Findings In order to answer the question of whether exposure to pinworm and mebendazole can shift the intestinal microbial composition and immune responses, we recruited 109 (30 pinwormnegative, 79 pinworm-infected) first and fourth grade primary school children in Taichung, Taiwan, for a gut microbiome study and an intestinal cytokine and SIgA analysis. In the pinworm-infected individuals, fecal samples were collected again at 2 weeks after administration of 100 mg mebendazole. Gut microbiota diversity increased after Enterobius infection, and it peaked after administration of mebendazole. At the phylum level, pinworm infection and mebendazole deworming were associated with a decreased relative abundance of Fusobacteria and an increased proportion of Actinobacteria. At the genus level, the relative abundance of the probiotic Bifidobacterium increased after enterobiasis and mebendazole treatment. The intestinal SIgA level was found to be lower in the pinworm-infected group, and was elevated in half of the mebendazole-treated group. A higher proportion of pre-treatment Salmonella spp. was associated with a non-increase in SIgA after mebendazole deworming treatment. Conclusions/Significance Childhood exposure to pinworm plus mebendazole is associated with increased bacterial diversity, an increased abundance of Actinobacteria including the probiotic Bifidobacterium, and a decreased proportion of Fusobacteria. The gut SIgA level was lower in the pinworminfected group, and was increased in half of the individuals after mebendazole deworming treatment.Item type:Item, Planning the development strategy for the mobile communication package based on consumers' choice preferences(2010-07-01) ;Lin, Chia-Li ;Chen, Chun-Wen ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyThis study aims to determine the services provided by TSPs for motivating the consumers to purchase new e-era mobile phones and find their corresponding functions of products, and to plan new e-era mobile phones based on customers' attributes for satisfying the customer needs. This study uses four aspects (image of product, price of product, function of product and derived function of product) and 14 criteria to determine customer's motivations of purchase and needs on new e-era mobile phones. We also combined AHP (Analytic hierarchy process) and FIM (Fuzzy integral method) with MCDM techniques to construct the value-created evaluation model for planning the new e-era mobile phones. This study selects 27 styles of 3G mobile phones already sold on the market, and uses the different customer's attributes data to evaluate price's satisfaction (product's price) and value's satisfaction (product's image, product's function and product's derived function) for performance of these 3G mobile phones in a 2-axle evaluation map based on mass customization. This study shows three different customer's attributes (male, female, both) to measure the satisfaction performance of 3G mobile phones in a 2-axle development strategy map using data from people that are surveyed randomly by 21-30 years old. The development strategy map will provide some new strategy view for developing new e-era mobile phone market based on value and price-satisfied portfolios. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
