Item type:Item, Decentralized stabilization of H-infinity fuzzy control for nonlinear multiple time-delay interconnected systems(2007-03-01) ;Hsiao, Feng-Hsiag ;Xu, Sheng-Dong ;Lin, Chia-Yen ;Chou, Yu-JunChen, Yu-ChingA robustness design of H infinity fuzzy control is proposed in this paper to overcome the effect of modeling errors between nonlinear multiple time-delay systems and fuzzy models. In terms of Lyapunov's direct method, a stability criterion is derived to guarantee the UUB (uniformly ultimately bounded) stability of nonlinear multiple time-delay interconnected systems with disturbances. Based on this criterion and the decentralized control scheme, a set of fuzzy controllers is then synthesized via the technique of parallel distributed compensation (PDC) to stabilize the nonlinear multiple time-delay interconnected systems and the H infinity control performance is achieved in the mean time.Item type:Item, Decentralized stabilization of Nonlinear multiple time-delay interconnected systems via h-infinity fuzzy control(2006) ;Hsiao, Feng-Hsiag ;Xu, Sheng-Dong ;Lin, Chia-Yen ;Chou, Yu-JunChen, Yu-ChingA robustness design of H-infinity fuzzy control is proposed in this paper to overcome the effect of modeling error between nonlinear multiple time-delay systems and fuzzy models. In terms of Lyapunov\'s direct method, a stability criterion is hence derived to guarantee the UUB (uniformly ultimately bounded) stability of nonlinear multiple time-delay interconnected systems with disturbances. Based on this criterion and the decentralized control scheme, a set of fuzzy controllers is then synthesized via the technique of parallel distributed compensation (PDC) to stabilize the nonlinear multiple time-delay interconnected systems and the H-infinity control performance is achieved in the mean time.Item type:Item, Effect of advance explanations on customer-perceived justice, satisfaction and loyalty enhancement(2008) ;Huang, Jen-Hung ;Lin, Chia-Yen ;管理科學系Department of Management Sciencebeen widely discussed and used as an economic tool in organizational behavior (e.g., Gilliland, 1994). This concept was applied examining the advance/postexplanation effect with 300 samples in a service industry. The result, based on ANOVA analysis, indicates that the advance explanation effect on enhancing customer-perceived justice, satisfaction and loyalty is powerful and significant (Table 1). We concluded that it is important that managers of companies should be providing advance explanations to customers to maintain this relationship economically and efficiently. The relationships among justice, satisfaction, and loyalty under two types of explanation (excuse and justification) will be studied in further research.Item type:Item, Energy-Saving Scheduling in IEEE 802.16e Networks(2008) ;Lin, Chia-Yen ;Chao, Hsi-Lu ;資訊工程學系Department of Computer ScienceThe advancement of mobile computing is mainly limited by battery lifetime of a end device, and thus power management is always a critical design issue in various wireless networks. To conserve power consumption of mobile subscribe stations (MSSs), three types of power saving classes are defined in the IEEE 802.16e standard. However, the defined power saving mechanism is per-connection basis, and thus when an MSS has multiple connections, the power saving efficiency degrades significantly. In this paper, a Least-Awake-Frames Scheduling (LAFS) algorithm is proposed to achieve both energy saving and Quatity-of-Service (QoS) fulfillment. The proposed LAFS consists of three phases to take all service classes into consideration. The goals of the first two phases are determining awake-frame candidate, sets for unsolicited grant service (UGS) connections and sleep/swake intervals for connections of the remaining service classes; the third phase is to determine sleep and awake frames of an MSS. The simulation results show that our proposed LAFS algorithm outperforms the power saving protocol defined in the IEEE 802.16e, and other existing power saving algorithms.Item type:Item, Least-Awake-Frame Scheduling with Delay Guarantee for IEEE 802.16e Broadband Wireless Access Networks(2008) ;Lin, Chia-Yen ;Chao, Hsi-Lu ;Liao, Yang-Jang ;Tsai, Tzu-Jane資訊工程學系The advancement of mobile computing is mainly limited by battery lifetime of an end device, and thus power management is always a critical design issue in various wireless networks. Design/methodology/approach - Data are collected from 224 Taiwanese undergraduate and graduate students to assess the influence of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on the intention to seek information in an academic digital library. The results of structural equation model-fitting analyses show that the TPB is better than the TRA in predicting the information-seeking intention in an academic digital library. Findings - Specially, the empirical results indicated that perceived behavioral control is a better predictor of behavioral intention than is attitude or subjective norm. Research limitations/implications - This paper assessed self-reported information-seeking intention as part of the survey and, as a result, could have introduced inaccuracies. Practical implications - The findings of the paper will help academic digital libraries to address the key factor which influences users' intention to seek information and to intensify their performance to meet user needs. Originality/value - Although the nature of the user experience in the digital environment appears to be quite different from the experience of looking through archival boxes or folders, research on the use of academic digital library services is scarce - particularly regarding user intention in the process of seeking information. The TRA and TPB are novel and usable in explaining the intention of online users to seek information, and these findings may be generally applicable to academic digital libraries and users.Item type:Item, Robust stabilization of fuzzy control for nonlinear multiple time-delay interconnected systems via neural-network-based approach(2006) ;Hsiao, Feng-Hsiag ;Liang, Yew-Wen ;Xu, Sheng-Dong ;Lin, Chia-YenTsai, Zhi-RenThe stabilization problem is considered in this study for a nonlinear multiple time-delay large-scale (NMTDLS) system. First, the NN model is employed to approximate each subsystem. Then, an LDI state-space representation is established for the dynamics of each NN model. According to the LDI state-space representation, a robustness design of fuzzy control is proposed to overcome the effect of modeling errors between subsystems and NN models. Next, in terms of Lyapunov\'s direct method, a delay-dependent stability criterion is derived to guarantee the asymptotic stability of NMTDLS systems. Subsequently, a set of fuzzy controllers is synthesized to stabilize the NMTDLS system.Item type:Item, Robustness design of fuzzy control for nonlinear multiple time-delay large-scale systems via neural-network-based approach(2008-02-01) ;Hsiao, Feng-Hsiag ;Xu, Sheng-Dong ;Lin, Chia-Yen ;Tsai, Zhi-Ren電控工程研究所The stabilization problem is considered in this correspondence for a nonlinear multiple time-delay large-scale system. First, the neural-network (NN) model is employed to approximate each subsystem. Then, a linear differential inclusion (LDI) state-space representation is established for the dynamics of each NN model. According to the LDI state-space representation, a robustness design of fuzzy control is proposed to overcome the effect of modeling errors between subsystems and NN models. Next, in terms of Lyapunov's direct method, a delay-dependent stability criterion is derived to guarantee the asymptotic stability of nonlinear multiple time-delay large-scale systems. Finally, based on this criterion and the decentralized control scheme, a set of fuzzy controllers is synthesized to stabilize the nonlinear multiple time-delay large-scale system.Item type:Item, SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF FOR DYNAMICALLY ADJUSTING SLEEP/AWAKE INTERVALS OF WIRELESS NETWORK DEVICE(2009-12-03) ;Lin, Chia-Yen ;Chao, Hsi-LuTsai, Tzu-JaneA system and a method thereof for dynamically adjusting sleep/awake intervals of a wireless network device are provided. The system has at least one base station (BS) and at least one wireless network device. The system performs the method to dynamically adjust the sleep/awake intervals by properly delaying and combining delivery of data such that the wireless network device is turned into a sleep mode after finishing data delivery within an adjusted period. Thereby, the number of awake frames of a mobile subscriber station (MSS) can be reduced without sacrificing the quality of service (QoS).
